Just a quick question to any sins out there with the skill, i know its worth it for the damage alone, but how long does the inc atk actually last? if it works like other skills, then the 3 sec of increased atk rate are made virtually useless by the 1.9 second cast time. so what i'm wondering is whether the buff lasts 3 seconds from when channel time ends or 3 seconds from when cast time ends.

Um, I recall someone confirming that it's 3 seconds after the cast ends.

However, even so, it's still made useless by the low proc rate.

As a sin with sage slipstream, I can vouch for its usefulness, at least to me. The damage alone would make me want to get the skill. Over 20k crit under spark with mediocre +5 Hook and Thorn. The APS boost is an extra, and in my experience (somewhat limited, only had the skill for like 2 weeks), it seems to proc quite a lot.

Olbaze is correct in saying that the skill procs after the channelling/cast.

I think it's a good investment, despite the fact that the proc's duration is relatively short.

The average price for a sage sin book on HT is around 4m to 4.5m, however I got slipstream for 1m and since then I've seen a few around for that price. I'm not sure of the prices on LC, but I'm sure if you hunt around a bit, you'll find one for a good price. :)

Again, just to reiterate its usefulness, I hadn't touched slipstream for around 40 levels, but now that I have the sage version, I use it immediately after every spark. It really is a nice skill.

As a sage sin with sage slipstream for quite some time now, I also confirm the att rate boost of 3 sec kicks in after casting ended. It's a nice skill, with pretty heavy damage and a chance to boost att rate. However, it's not really vital to have. 3sec is really short, and only 30% chance it kicks in but damage e equals lvl10 HH without the high spark cost. I paid a bit under 1mil to get the book, but wouldn't pay the 4m~4.5mil I usually see for it (probably based on 10k token price to make it).

I really do wonder about Sage Slipstream as an opener in normal PvE grinding.

Whenever it procs, Sage Slipstream is obviously the best in terms of DPS. Whenever it doesn't, it still has a 2,600 damage advantage over Rib Strike.

What I'm interested in is: Does the extra damage cover you for the extra damage the mobs will deal? Of course, if the proc happens, it most likely will.

Effectively, at 1.82 base APS, Sage Slipstream actually has:
    6,633 Damage + 100% Weapon Damage + 6.82 * Base Damage

Over the duration of 5.1 seconds.

Which really isn't that great, since Rib Strike is:
    3,975.8 Damage + 100% Weapon Damage + 6.278 * Base Damage

So the difference in damage is actually just 2,657.8 Damage + 0.542*Base Damage. And you lose the 50% Attack Speed debuff. Looking at my own Sin, that's about the same as comparing the proc to getting 1-2 more hits.

So, is the extra damage on normal grinding really worth the loss of the debuff? Consider pre-99, so the maximum APS you'd have is 2.0, more likely 1.82 or 1.67.
