Why the hell did you change the interface please put it back as it was. There's an old saying if it ain't broke dont fix it. In the new format i have to totaly change my way of working and i bet lots will have to and that is not good.

It just looks different with a bit of add ons to it, I don't think its worse than the previous one - which was really ugly and messed up for the most part.

Yeah....Haven't even been in-game yet considering I got a blue screen error.....
Tho I highly doubt it can be any worse than some of the interfaces *coughWoWw/oaddonscough* i've seen.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

"it won't be any uglier or more messed up than the previous ugly, messed up one", is NOT a good enough reason to make drastic changes.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0

I agree that there should be a choice between the new and old interface. Personally I liked the minimalist old version. It was pretty and easy to use.0

I personally liked the first interface when I played the game back in september 2008. I'd really choose that UI if it'd allow to choose the design, which by the way, I think its a good idea. I do like the way they did it for Genesis, but I believe original is the best. besides, I am a bit nostalgic of the good ol' days0

Um, the same complaint is always played out.
And really, this time they did a pretty good job. Most of the text fits the boxes and the interface isn't nearly as screwed up as the Tideborn one was when we first got it. Really, the biggest "messing up" that I've seen was that Holeen's name was in two rows and overlapped with the evasion and hit percentage stats, but that's not really a biggie considering that his name is so long: Holeen, Champion of Fientazzar.
And personally, most of the changes in this UI I really like. We got back the numbering on skill bars, the text is readable, the UI is compact. The one thing that bugs me are that the new icons above the NPCs are too different from the previous ones: we used to have two icons with either orange, silver or yellow. Now we got two icons with green, blue, yellow, orange and gray.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.

While personally I love the new interface, it dissapoints me that they decided to not give us the option to choose between the skins (along with other things...). I mean, why can China have that option, but not us?
That thing where publishers remove content while localizing for another audience... PWE pretty much just pulled one.
BTW, OP... You typoed "Genesis" pretty bad there. b:avoid[sigpic][/sigpic]LOVE

To me, I like the look of the new interface better than the previous. But that's just my personal opinion.0

As a cleric, join a full squad. Your squad bar is now encroaching on your chatbox, it's hard to see who's in combat, and you can't tell at a glance whether "omgisuckatnames" or "isuckmore" is the male or female sin. It can make healing a squad of randoms fun! :P
(To be honest, this is one of my few complaints with the expansion/UI. The other biggies being that the new "general/world" font doesn't have the ☆ and other characters, and that the chi bar is translucent now. My girlfriend hates that she can no longer move the mini map.)Yukkuri - Heavens Tear wrote: »That thing where publishers remove content while localizing for another audience... That or they didn't get this bit localized yet?[sigpic][/sigpic]

I'm guessing that is because of your resolution. Because believe me, I'm running 1920x1080 and I'm not having any overlapping issues whatsoever. I mean really, is someone still running the game on 800x600? And bringing in "performance" is kinda moot, my PC was put together when Pentium 4 was the best you could get, I'm running 1920x1080 and I'm not playing any different than when I was using 1280x1024 on my old monitor.
Also, you can move the squad member window to a different location that is out of the way of the chat. Or you could use a smaller chat window.
Also, you do realize that with the Tideborn expansion, they added hotkeys for selecting squad members? I think it was Shift + Number, with Number being the place a member has your squad list. You can check from the hotkey menu.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.

I run at 1440x900, which ought to be sufficient. And the squad bar resets each time you join a squad.
Personally, I like having my "combat" box above my (maximized, smallest text) chat box. As many on Lost City can attest, I spend way too much time chatting when I'm not in an instance. b:victory
And what do hotkeys have to do with trying to determine which character is male and which is female? We had color differentiation in the squad bar before; we do not now.[sigpic][/sigpic]

Because it still shows a portrait of the character. So, without checking their names, you could just check the hotkeys and remember which one of them is the male and which one is the female.I run at 1440x900, which ought to be sufficient. And the squad bar resets each time you join a squad.
Well yes, that's a bit expected with maximum chat window and a smaller wide screen monitor. I do know that I'm not getting any overlapping and I'm using a maxed chat window.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.

Um portrait? Screenshot, please? My squad bar just has class icons...Olbaze - Sanctuary wrote: »Well yes, that's a bit expected with maximum chat window and a smaller wide screen monitor. I do know that I'm not getting any overlapping and I'm using a maxed chat window.
Except that the old squad bars came nowhere near the chat window... And it's not coming anywhere near the "combat/general" text window, either, if you place it on top? It does on my 1280x1024 monitor, too. The new squad bars are just a bit too large vertically, methinks.
You're checking this in a full squad?[sigpic][/sigpic]

I meant that using the hotkeys for your squad members bring up their portrait as though you had just clicked on them in the squad menu. Which is what you'd use for heals and assist attack. And I'd believe that remembering a few numbers is pretty easy.Except that the old squad bars came nowhere near the chat window... And it's not coming anywhere near the "combat/general" text window, either, if you place it on top? It does on my 1280x1024 monitor, too. Except that depends on where you place your combat menu. For example, mine is beside the chat window on the bottom. That might explain why I'm not getting the same issue. You're checking this in a full squad?
Well, I have done a few FCCs so far and I would've noted if the squad menu was overlapping.
However yes, I do have to agree on the squad menu being a bit large. Heck, the new icons are what, more than twice the size of the previous ones.
But there still should be plenty of space for your squad menu on the screen, especially on that resolution. Even if the position does reset every time you get a new squad, moving it to the opposite side of the screen takes what, two seconds.
And from a combat point of view, having a maxed chat window is pretty much pointless. The only things you use the chat window for is communication with random squads and observing the talking bosses, such as Runewolf, Dreadindra and Messenger in FCC. It's just a few clicks to change the size anyway.
And besides, the UI being badly compatible with certain resolutions sure isn't something unexpected, considering that they cannot even get the map sized right for widescreen. Not to mention that the UI isn't resizable anyway, so smaller resolutions are not favorable.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Then we'd have the option in chinese.
(Seriously, though. I've been playing LOMA as well and THAT has quite the number of still to be localized content. Same applies here.)
[The UI option isn't the only feature missing from the chinese version.]

yeah, but that's no call for them to go making it even LESS favorable. before genesis, it was a bit of a PITA to play in a 1024x768 window; after genesis, it's a major royal PITA with a pain topping and a kick in the nuts to boot. i'm mostly upset about the hotkey bars growing unmanageably large, myself. well, that and the "resize UI" checkbox seemingly doing nothing.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0
