Is Wraithgate:Trophy Mode possible?

Well, I did a search but nothing which answered my question turned up so rather than necro a thread I figured I might as well make a new one.

Is it possible to get the gold medal in Wraithgate: Trophy Mode with a full squad of level 60-80 players? I know, I know, the common consensus is that we should get four people between 60 and 80 and the last two should be some high level 5 APS but where's the fun in that?

Some friends and I have been giving it a shot for the capes and just to say we did it but I'm beginning to think it's just a pipedream. Even when everything runs smoothly and no one D/Cs or lags then the best we can get is around 1500 seconds. We have several silver medals and a few bronze from our first few attempts but the lack of a single gold medal is disheartening. If we can't do this without high level help then we're just going to move on.

So, should we just give up or is there someone with a rousing tale of triumph over impossible odds who can inspire us to continue on?

PS-I know that the lunar glade robes are better but since I'm after the -0.05 interval then the other stats don't really matter much to me. As for being lower grade, I won't be refining anything past +5 so it's really a difference of around 30 HP which won't make even the slightest difference.
You have three chances to guess the reason for the post above.

It's possible. Good on you for trying it how it's supposed to be done.

What is your team's make-up? Might be able to help there.

It is possible to do. I have the Energetic Robe: Wraithgate to prove that. And someone on my fl has all the capes. And another one has the Calm Robe: Wraithgate.

The basic idea is to bring:
    Level 80 barb
    Level 80 Cleric
    Level 80 DD
    Level 80 DD
    Level 100 DD
    Level 100 DD

    Ideally:
    Level 80 Barb
    Level 80 Cleric
    Level 80 Wiz
    Level 80 Sin
    Level 100 5 aps BM
    Level 100 5 aps Sin

The Trophy Mode is a lot different from regular Wraithgate. For one, you have to make big, big pulls of the mobs. You pull the hallways to the bigger rooms and AoE the mobs. For two, you don't pull bosses. Also, the barb needs to be way overgeared to be able to pull that off. Ours has 12k HP, +5 TT80s with 4x Immaculates, a +6 Wings of Cloudcharger with 4x Sapphire Gems.

Energetic Robe: Wraithgate is good until the refines and shards start to matter. For example, you cannot shard DoTs or Primevals or Savants into the cape, so it's not really ideal for an endgame cape.

However personally I'll be using mine until I can afford a Wing Trophy: Lunar Glade, enough sockets to make it 4 sockets, at least +5 refine and 4 DoTs.

that's nice, but exactly what the OP was NOT asking about.

Well you should still be able to do it, though it's gonna be tough to kill Pole and Gaurnob.

What I said about the barb still stands, though. You need a really good one.

Well ****. Our barb only has 9k HP fully buffed at level 78. Guess that means he needs to charge more zen. b:avoid

Seriously though, how big should the pulls be? We've been grabbing smaller groups to play it safe but obviously grabbing more at once would shave off precious seconds.

I'm not really interested in having the best gear in the game. Maybe someday I'll change my mind but I highly doubt that I'll continue playing my sin long after hitting level 90. 90 seems to be some brick wall for me; I quit my archer and cleric pretty much right after they got to 90 and I quit PWI for almost two years after my BM was 90 for a day.

This is one of Azgarius' runs, from his own point of view. Should give you a pretty good idea on how large the pulls should be.

From my experience on those runs, the most common thing that caused squad wipes was lag on either barb or cleric.
