I quite frankly don't understand why we cant have same-sex anything. It's called PERFECT WORLD INTERNATIONAL. <---EMPHASIS ON INTERNATIONAL. A lot of places are allowing same-sex unions and marriages, and the like. I hate making girl characters just so I can have Boyfriends in-game. It's utterly ridiculous. So PWI please take this suggestion, and all the other homosexual posts on here seriously. If you make a game that's international, you're indefinitely going to get homosexual players. So make it possible, because I'd be more than happy, and I'm sure A lot of other People will be too. As for the bigots out there, You don't have to associate with them if you don't want to, so don't *****. Thank you.

the reason you can't understand is that you took no time to learn about the game, it's history, the culture it derives from or the culture the developers are living in. all of which have been discussed ad nauseum every other day when this thread is brought up.

btw I didn't realise homosexual was a country that fell under the definition of international - reminds me of that old joke ".. and what part of Lesbia are you from". in the context used by PWE, international refers to being available in more than one region - north america (USA, Canada, Mexico etc), Europe, Australia. Does not mean global and also does not mean that the game has to accept the mores of any other culture - otherwise they would have to permit marriage to multiple partners at the same time, marriage to minors, marriage to animals etc. All sorts of things are allowed internationally - does not mean that any company has to follow these in a GAME!

on a more serious note, given the games target market and the willingness of the press to blame any computer game for all the ills of the world (sex, violence, drugs, etc) then I think erring on the side of caution to prevent a backlash is just prudent business sense. PWE are not going to pee off middle america by making such a radical change to their game - even if they were permitted by the chinese owners where such a thing is still illegal. As it is in the majority of the USA - go Team America!

@DevilsToxin - I believe the reason why you don't understand why its not allowed lies in the fact you didn't search the forums before posting, as this was answered multiple times before - last was just a few hours ago.

In short, this version is the North American and the company publishing it is owned by the parent company in Beijing, China, where the law forbids homosexual relationship/marriage. They cannot implant it in the game as a result of that.
