I think it is overheating. Maybe a lot of dust in it or a fan stopped working. Something like that.

if its a laptop there isnt much u can do but replace it.

if its a desktop. u can open it up and blow the dust out with a can of compressed air.

And although i agree with the post earlier, it sounds exactly like your computer is overheating; it's always good to check for viruses and spyware.

I ended up replacing my laptop about 9 months back becuase of overheating issues. (as in the little plastic mouse dot thing in the keyboard melted...)b:shocked

if it's a laptop and it's not under warranty, in theory you can take it apart and blow the dust out same as with a desktop. except that will void any warranty, and the way laptops are put together there's a very real risk of not getting it together right afterwards --- or of having bits left over when you're done. taking it to a repair shop and having them do it is safer.

I recommend casting gush on your computer to combat its overheating problem. If that does not work, simply use BID on it. One hitting the problem is usually what you want to do so do that.

This may be a long shot, but have you made sure the power cord in the back is pushed in all the way? Check the other end of the power cord at the wall outlet also.

general desktop computer dust clean-out procedure:

get yourself a spray can of compressed air from an electronics store. note, these cans don't actually have compressed air in them after all. that's too expensive; the can manufacturers use whatever compressed gas is cheapest, meaning you can't actually breathe whatever comes out of that can. plus, it's usually flammable too. keep that in mind when using the stuff.

unplug your computer completely. power cord, keyboard, monitor, everything. power cord first. try to keep track of what plug goes where.

pull the computer out in the open and try to figure out how to get it opened up. usually the left side panel comes off somehow, but every case is different and some of them are just weird. many computer cases use screws or thumbscrews you have to remove (don't lose them!); Dells often have little tabs you pull to open the case up like a clamshell. once you see, and can get at, the main electronics board inside there, that's open enough.

awkwardly carry the whole thing out to somewhere you don't mind making a dusty mess (maybe outdoors), usually trailing dust bunnies the whole way. don't drop it.

use the canned "air" to blow the rest of the dust out of the case. make sure to keep the can straight upright or the gas will come out as a liquid; that's wasteful of the stuff and doesn't move the dust anywhere. pay special attention to heat sinks and (carefully, don't break them) fans inside your computer. also blow out the power supply, but don't try to open that up. when it's as clean as it'll get (or when your can of air's empty), put it all back together and hope it still works.

there should be no need to unplug or unscrew anything on the inside of the computer case to get it clean.

yeah, the can of "air" is supposed to get freezing cold when you use it. leave it to warm up for a bit if your hand's getting too cold. that'll recover some of the gas pressure in the can, too. DON'T try to heat it up other than just leaving it sitting in a warm room, though, you really don't want to take that sort of risks around cheap, flimsy cans of compressed and probably flammable gas...
