HP stones are either citrines or vitality +10 stones.
You will want to start putting citrines in your gear maybe around 5-6x+ and vitality stones are for end game (as those cost about 25mil right now).
HP stones are as permanent as your armor is. If you get some as drops or quest rewards, stick them in your best looking piece of armor if you want. Or save them for a little later. You take your armor to the tailor and imbue soulgem or something along those lines.
Citrines have various levels like all shards

poke around through that to look at the different levels and what kind of HP they give. Shards tend to be kind of pricey and more so at the lower levels in comparison to the amount of HP they give. you probably want to start seriously sharding with Flawless Citrines (which normally cost 140k each) around 6x or 7x depending on the armor.
And just so you know, vit stones are Primeval and Stone of the Savant. They both give +10 vit in armor, and 1 vit point for a sin = 13hp points. so those give 130hp as well as some pdef and stuff. But they are extremely expensive, and can't be removed from armor to put in newer pieces. if you go to remove them, they are destroyed and you are given your clean piece of armor back.
This is another thing you wont do til later, but refining your armor can give HP too. If you look at a higher level person's gear and you see like "Armor Name +2" that +2 is the refine.

But again, mirages are expensive so its something you save for later.
Assassins are hard to play at low levels. They are extremely squishy and you just have to keep pushing through it.

Collect the herbs for those, they are going to be your best friend for a while. They increase your HP recovery rate which makes a difference.
You could also put some points in vit for a while now, maybe up to about 30vit total. You can always remove them later, and if you don't it isn't going to make a huge difference but it will give you some more HP.0
