My walker has Icicle, Roar and toughen. What would be a good 3rd skill. I have some coins to burn so money isn't an option.

Also I read that if I don't pvp a petite sawfly is useless. Is this true? I've been leveling one since I had one at level 8. It's currently my 2nd best pet. If it is useless. What other pet would you suggest to go with meh walker. I don't want to use pets that won't help me in pve. Thankies! b:cute

My personal choice would be threaten. The walker does a good job of holding aggro so long as you keep icicle leveled, so you don't really need another damage skill... threaten will reduce the damage the enemy mobs do, and is especially good in combination with tough.

Re the fly: No, it's not useless. I use a skatefish, which is basically identical to the fly stat-wise, and it has served me well.

Personally I keep both a flying piggie and a skatefish. I use the skatefish for pvp and the piggie for pve. x) If you've got your sawfly already and you're happy with it, I see no reason to switch it out!

Assuming this is going to be a long term pet? Bash.

Multiple bashes is the only way fro the pet to hold aggro against you once you get past about level 50.

    Ad. Walker skill:
I've put Threaten on mine, and it works well. Together with Tough (or, actually, alternating them so at least one of them is always active) it makes a great tanking combo - and Walker is my main tank.

    Ad. Sawfly
In pvp sawfly trully shines, beeing, just behind nix, with the bugged bleed, the 2nd best pet for eating AAs alive - but it can be easily 1-shoted by almost any class. In pve it may seem a bit fragile compared to the other pets, but it has a great damage output and thus lets you kill mobs faster and keeps aggro better. Grinding with it is overall faster than with a piggy, even though I need to heal the fly more often.

    Ad leveling skills
You can do it every 20 pet lvls. At lvl20 any skill on that pet can be leveled up to lvl2, at lvl40 - lvl3, at lvl60 - lvl4 and at lvl80 up to lvl5.

Isnt using less skills also an option?

Well yes, you could just not attack the monster yourself.

But that would be, and I choose my words carefully here, **** and stupid.

Depending on the situation, it's less stupid than getting yourself killed, ijs...

count me as another vote for threaten on a tank. i have it on my walker, and it works great.

the way i figure it, if i'm using my pet to tank then it's because i'm tanking something nothing else in the squad could handle --- and it's not likely to be much of a squad if a mere glacial walker's at the top of THAT totem pole. that being so, i'm likely to be spam healing the thing, or at least willing to slow down my DDing myself. hey, i could've always just hung around asking for a barb instead if i was in such a hurry to kill it, amirite?

but if i'm not that worried about being flattened by whatever i'm fighting, then it's likely not a boss --- in which case i'll just take a couple-three hits on myself in the few seconds between ripping aggro off my pet and finally killing the thing. i've got HP and mana management skills, i can cope with an open map mob or even an elite at a time. hey, it's why i statted 40-plus vit back then, wasn't it?

conversely, if i'm not using my pet to tank because somebody else is tanking, there's two basic possibilities. one: no AoE, i don't have to heal pet; break out the dedicated DDing pet and let's rip out some HP! dark wanderer's job, that. (which reminds me, i oughta replace roar with that mag def debuff skill on the horsey...) or, two: there's an AoE, i still need to heal the pet. glacial walker, for the toughness. oh hey, i've got threaten on it --- that might reduce the tank's repair bill by a few coins, they might not notice, but it surely won't hurt.
