Was wondering at what level should a bm consider using elemt. neck/belt if so what items neck only or belt as well, or should a bm stay full protection?

Umm, the most ideal set up is to use both magic def orns with full heavy armor.

As early as possible but if you feel your physical defense is too low in the early levels you can continue to use physical ornies until level 60 or so. Mobs under level 60 tend to use either a physical attack or a magic attack. After level 60 you'll find alot more using more magical attacks, or using a magic attack first then a physical attack. Elemental ornies are definitely the way to go until you have set bonus options at 99.]

Edit: Oh, and both neck and belt. The one alternative I see is Sky Demons neck at level 87 if you need more hp.

Or if you can afford super high refines on armors, you can go completely HA and prot ornaments and shard armors with Sapphire Gems. It'd make you indestructible. But of course, this is the most expensive option...

from my experience, you dont really need elemental until fc, provided you are a fist user.
Most mobs you face will do 1 magic attack and switch off to physical when you are in range of that. Shadowless kick to start will make killing mobs into all physical.
Now if you don't use fists, you'll likely want to start using them...well quite frankly when you find yourself taking a lot of magic damage. Trust me, when you start coming close to death or actually dying a lot, you'll know it's time.

ok, thanks all. hp at this points is about 5.2k ish and pdef w/ lvl10 bell is about 8.8k ish, so i guess ill have to look at whats available in the forges and see whats going to give a good mdef complement to cut down on the magic damage. yep ive noticed the 1 hit magic at rang then pys hit at meele form more and more mobs. been doing the m/marrow,pmarrow switching a lot, but am noticing if im a lil late with the m.marrow or forget to do the switch the hit is a bit more than what i'd like to see. and when i get a few too many of the magic attakers my hp is getting eaten up too fast.

To be perfectly honest, if you have leveled your aoes and use axes (based on your hp I would assume so) seaweed thiefs are going to be the start to your introduction to axe aoe physical only mobs. It's really a very good way to go. Although not the best for active play, because you'll generally want to build chi for roar + hf, and cutting down on costs takes time instead of coin.

    1-20 physical ornaments.
    20+ magical.

Also there are certain situations, like aoe grinding physical-only mobs or a difficult boss with a phys aoe or tanking a physical boss, where it's a good idea to keep a set of physical ornaments handy.
