The Psychic items Need. What a shock indeed.

Listen. I got the game and I made my first friend. As you can see, I chose to be an Assassin (excellent choice), and he had chosen to be a Psychic (seemingly better choice).
Now in the beginning it was all fun and games. Killing things, getting our level, no big deal right? As we got higher, we ran into real issues.
Everytime an item dropped, no matter what it was, he would say "It is better suited for a Psychic", and click the pick up button. At first I didn't question him, thinking that he must have done his research. However, as this went on, I figured I would ask him.
Now I know if an item has intelligence, it will help me raise my weapon skills faster, which is vital for an Assassin, because I am all about my weapons. But he says, no he needs the intelligence for his magic atacks. Then, if an item has strength, I know I need it to hit harder. He says, no, he needs it because his normal attack is not high. He needs to make each one count. Fine.
An item dropped that had vitality for health. Mine right? I am an Assassin, I need to be able to absorb damage, but yet deal a high amount of it. No. He said he needs to keep his health bar as high as possible!
You can see where I am going with this. Every drop should have been mine, by my explanation. Yet he took it for himself. I can't stand it anymore. I finally said, listen maybe you don't know everything. He said, fine, go to the forums and find high leveled Psychics. He said find the HIGHEST LEVEL Psychic you can, and keep messaging him on each item, asking who it should go to. After messaging several Psychics for over a period of an hour, I realized that not only were they selfish, but very very rude too. The majority did not reply to me. The few that did said 'yes sure it's for a Psychic', or 'give it to the Psy'. They would link to me red/orange colored items and laugh. Few would answer more than a few questions, although I added many to my friends list and message them whenever I'm online.
So good luck to you guys. I am an Assassin, and I will not be in a group with a Psychics, because guess what, I want to get some items too. Guess what, just because you can wear everything, doesn't mean that others should be naked. Guess what, congratulations on making the most greedy unit. This is a social game, and you just lost a friend.

Items that drop are 99.99% junk items anyway, so who cares?
Why are you fighting over trivial nonsense like this?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
PWI Merchanting Guides: warrenwolfy.wordpress.com0 -
You're both idiots, and should learn what stat points do for you.
And why the HELL would a Psy need anything with Vit addons? Vit on a Psy is like a pure magic BM. Purely useless. You aren't supposed to tank on a Psy. And some piece of gear with +2 vit is going to make no difference.
Take your "friend" to the nearest dumpster and blunt-object them in the back of the head, take their coins, blacklist them, and forget them. Find a new friend.
And look up 'gullible', because you fit it, I'm sorry to say. =\101 Sage Sin*/Archer

are u really that gullible?
yeah its considered polite of you give drops to classes that can use it but...
if he is a psy he is going to want arcane armor.. magic rings and soulspheres.
your wanting light armor daggers and physical rings as a sin
the only 2 items that psy and sin both use are physical belts and physical amulets..
other than that there should be no overlap.
and ultimately if you pick up the drop its yours...
its not considered rude if you get a rare mold magic ring mold on ur barb you don't need to give it to magic chars. if you don't have a magic char of your own it would be the polite thing to do but if its a decently priced item they can keep it and sell it.
The only thing that is Really Rude is to sell an item to a NPC that someone else needs just for the coin. (dragon point items excluded).Killing level 80's with a lvl 60 is a lot more fun than killing level 90's with a level 100.0 -

Dont listen to the people in this tread it seems they have forgotten about the time they was new to the game and did not know what was what. I can not give you any information on either classes as I have not played them but your freind does seem to be a little greedy and wants everything for him self. If he wants to stick to this game plan I would let him run on his own as eventualy when you start doing your FB's and molds or three star starts dropping it could start costing you quite a bit of coin to kit him out02/07/2011 - Lost paitence with PWI sold all my gear bought packs and wasted my coin till it was gone... goodbye PWI b:bye0 -

At low levels gear drops are junk that you NPC for coin. If, by some miracle, it's not junk then you end up NPCing it anyway because you out-level it in no time.
The heart of the problem is that the OP is picking a fight over something so incredibly silly. Their problem isn't about gear, it's about attitude and maturity.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Doesn't take Freud to figure out your "friend" is obviously a piece of trash who's taking advantage of you.
Although, the logic response would be to ditch him and look for other friends. Now, because you talked to 10 Psychics and because they all happened to be morons doesn't mean all Psychics are. That's profiling! And it's bad.
Idiots are everywhere, they don't all gather in one class of PWI, trust me. You should just go and stay on your way, without trying to make too many friends. In this game, the people you really bond with are the ones you never looked to connect with in the first place (in my experience at least).
Just play your game, do your quests, meet people and see what happens. Random encounters followed by random chats contribute to building actual pwi-friendships. Prefer that over random people who squad you without saying hi or anything and just want to leech off you.
Turns out there are a lot of jerks in this game, but there are also a lot of nice people. You'll just see for yourself as you keep going. Luckally for you questing alone as a Psychic is fairly simple, so..
Anyway, just my two cents.
ps : You should also try and join a low-level faction. A lot of them are very friendly and don't seek to take advantage of you, unlike loners, or morons.Risingson - 7x Psychic

another thing i would keep in mind is that your on a PvP server.
meaning once you hit lvl 30 anyone can kill u ANYWHERE and take ur items. (safe areas such as towns excluded)
So if you dont plan on doing PVP i would switch to a PVE server while ur still a low lvl.Killing level 80's with a lvl 60 is a lot more fun than killing level 90's with a level 100.0 -

I didn't make this post out of the blue. When I figured that he had done his research, I did my own.
All the items mentioned above should have gone to me. I have nothing but my weapons, therefore I need to be the best at using them. How can I be the best if I don't have more intelligence, and I don't get my skill faster than the others around? It doesn't make sense.
How can you say that the Psychics needs vitality, yet I need vitality? I need the vitality for my health. My role is to absorb as much damage as I can in the fight, but yet at the same time deal more damage than I have absorbed. Using this tactic, I kill things, while my Psychic EX-FRIEND would cast spells on it. Now explain to me why he needed my health?
If you're trying to change my mind about grouping with Psychics, sorry. I have added many to my friends list, but not because they are friends. Simply to keep a track of who they are, and who not to group with, because sometimes you can't tell immediately what unit they chose.
If you are trying to apologies for another person's behavior, don't try to do it while telling me that he should get the items. You can't burn your bread while you're putting butter on it.0 -

Your not going to be the best just yet and up untill about 50 you dont even need good gear..90% of the drops you are getting now are junk and you will hold on to them for a very small time. The items you will end up wearing will be ones from drops inside instances and items you buy from shops or the AH (Known as three star or Legendary). Your thinking way to hard way to early about your gear and this is dangerous.. Your gear changes so fast but your own personal stat points and skill choices do not
I would spend more time researching builds and skills rather than weapons and armor right now as no doubt this time in three days you will be wearing completley diffrent items
This will make your stats jump up and down and will cause you problems if you dont do the prep work on your char before trying to pimp him out.02/07/2011 - Lost paitence with PWI sold all my gear bought packs and wasted my coin till it was gone... goodbye PWI b:bye0 -

Intelligence in this game doesn't work like it does in D&D. Intelligence in this game is "Magic" and increases MP, MP regen, and magic attack. An item with +magic would go to a psychic. There isn't a stat point that increases skills.
You use Spirit and coins to learn skills. You get access to different skills at specific levels.Pinkygirlsin - Lost City wrote: »Then, if an item has strength, I know I need it to hit harder. He says, no, he needs it because his normal attack is not high. He needs to make each one count. Fine.
Strength won't make an Assassin hit harder. Dexterity is what gives sins extra damage. Pure dex sins (the highest damage build) put 4 dex and 1 strength per level. Sins and Psys don't need strength as an add-on, at least not at lower levels.
You shouldn't quit squadding with all Psychics just because the Psychics you've talked to were rude. I've squadded with plenty of nice people and plenty of fail people and there are some of both in all classes. Give everyone a chance! You might make a really good friend who just happens to be a psychic.Pinkygirlsin - Lost City wrote: »I have added many to my friends list, but not because they are friends. If you've got a problem with someone and want to remember not to squad with them, just Blacklist them, don't Friend them. Go to the Friend List ("F" in game) and look near the bottom of the window. Click the green ">>>" next to Blacklist. Add the person you don't want to squad with. You won't be able to get chats from them and you can check your Blacklist at any time.
Hope this helps, and good luck in PW! b:victory0 -

Lol Look at those first few reply posts... so ignorant and arrogant. Ignore them Pinky, obviously they got stuff up their backsides with a load of basis comments.
Honestly Speaking I didn't finish reading the whole story because I already got the gist of it... that FRIEND of yours is being a greedy scab.
Whether he needs it or not, its called being fair. Gawd a lot of people need stuff so why don't everyone become a selfish brat and keep everything to themselves? That's just not right. Every class needs HP.... and DDs need damage.. you BOTH are qualified for those drops, not just coz he's a psychic.
I'd actually even warn other people who your psychic friend is, so that he won't be invited in TT runs or Nirvana runs or w/e farming runs because if anything gets in his inventory he probably won't drop it and actually run away with it -_-
Another advice to you - don't be his friend anymore -_- he's stepping on you to get benefits. Or ANYONE like him. Become strong alone, don't trust anyone and do your own research and learn yourself. That way you will know what's right and what's wrong for you.
There are many stuckup ppl out there so don't trust ANYONE to the full. Play the way you want to play. Do your research, read others comments and observe other people. Then make ur own decisions. This is YOUR character, YOUR gameplay.

This made me laugh a bit. He is really trying to steal all the crappy npc item that drops. Its really pathetic, trying to hog all stuff from mobs to earn a few hundred coins.
Just stop party with that greedy *** guy or set loot on free and pick your own drops. Tell him to stop being a leech and that you need coins to. Imagine later on when valuable stuff starts dropping inside dungeons and he pulls the same ****. You make "in-game friends" in one day when playing MMOs anyway, than a week later you start hanging out with someone else. Just stop talking to him and play with someone else.
You should preferably learn something about assassins builds to and stop bothering higher levels with nonsense questions b:surrender. Most stuff about stats points and builds can be explained by using the search function on forum.0 -

Intelligence bonuses? There's no such character attribute or gear bonus in PWI. It's called "Mag" for Magic here, and no, it doesn't "help you raise your weapon skills faster".
Here's what you need to know:
+Mag gear: Give it to the psychic. It helps their damage, MP, and MP recovery, which is far more important to them than it is to you. Mag has nothing to do with learning skills, so it has little use for you and doesn't affect your damage.
+Dex gear: Give it to the assassin. It helps their damage, accuracy, evasion, and crits. For psychics it has far less of an effect, and doesn't affect their damage.
+Str gear: You both only need minimal Str for your armor and weapons, so neither of you need this much (though the assassin will need a bit more to use his gear). And no, Str doesn't affect the damage for either of you; assassins use Dex instead of Str, and psychics use Mag. Basically, if you spent your attribute points properly, neither of you should need this.
+Vit gear: This will help both of you, though it helps the assassin a little bit more than the psychic. Really though, if only one of you is tanking, then it is the tank that needs it more. If both of you tank equally, then you should split it.
Arcane armor: Goes to the psychic. They can wear it, the assassin can't.
Light armor: Goes to the assassin. They can wear it, the psychic can't. (Unless the psychic went with a light armor build, which is rare.)
Heavy armor: Split it, because neither of you can use it, so NPC it or AH it and split the coins.
Just about anything else should be split evenly.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Hi, my name is *** and I'm a Psychic. (lvl--85)
Wait, let me correct that, I'm a HYBRID Psychic.
My Vitality points total to 66, if you remove my gear.
It's 72 if you stick it all on, and I've sharded and refined.
If you just said Psychics don't need VIT, you are an idiot. Every class needs Vit. I would laugh at you if you were level 100 and had only 5 vit....right after one-shotting you.
Psychics are a-holes? Try running a PvP server. You'll IMMEDIATELY understand who is the more OP fish upon entering level 30. (Hint: It's not the magic fish...you can actually see those.)0 -
Don't need much vit past lvl 100 when you get better gear. I only got 20 and I do just fine.
Above everything else, I'm gunna get 5 aps and be pro sauce.

I didn't list all the items that he was getting, because as I said above, you can see where I'm going.
Obviously I gave you people too much credit.
I have taken enough abuse from ingame Psychics. I added them to my friends, but let me re-emphasize, THEY ARE NOT MY FRIENDS. I do not have to take this from you guys too. There is a Assassin forum, where there are a lot of high level assassins. Do not think I'm alone and will be intimidated.
Let me tell you what he said about the agility. He told me, like for strength, his attacks do very little damage. He wants to make sure that when he hits, he will do the most damage. Also, he said that his health was very low. He wants to increase the chance of people missing him. I said alright, that made sense to me.
But it was the other things that annoyed me. Sometimes, when a item was red for me, I would give it to him. But I would not see him using the item. I said, it was red I can't use it. He said, yes it is for Psychics.
I took all these concerns to the Psychics on my friends list. Do you doubt that they answered me disrespectfully? Do not make me name them and shame them. Now it says that the person is offline, and I do not see them anymore. It is like a constant problem with me updating my list.
If assassins play the most vital role in the game, I don't see why you would want to disconnect yourselves with them, just out of greed.0 -
set the drop to random, problem solved.
