What happens?

Okay a bit a of a stupid question, but then again maybe not... Anyway I'm on the server Lost City and well when I logged on this morning I went "Oh s*** not again" Essence gained another territory... they now own all but three spots on the map. Well that me thinking what happens in a few weeks, if/when they get the last three spots on the map? At this rate it's gonna take a lot for anyone to get any territories away from Essence.

So has the entire map ever been taken over on another servers? and I mean complete take over as in one color on the map. And what happens if one guild controls it all?

    Enrage used to own all of the map on HT. What happens is QQ on wc from haters.

    If one guild controls all the one guild controls all. In the past some guilds have decided to reset the map, but that's of their own free will and they aren't forced to do so, if they choose to keep every land then they can unless someone beats them in a TW.

    What happens could go in one or two directions..

    1) they reset, go their own way.. start factions to attempt to bring good TWs to the map.. but 9 times out of ten, they will AGAIN all flock to the stronger one.. and see the same cycle.

    or

    2) Hag on to it till another faction strong enough builds up to defeat them, and hopefully half their members never log in due to bored 10 min TWs.

    It's pretty much the only thing that happens until:

    A. Some other guild beats them.
    B. Everyone rage-quits the dominating guild.
    C. Leader of dominating guild kicks everyone out to effectively "reset" the map.

    Nefarious on Sanctuary also held the entire map for a brief period of time... nothing unusual happens (e.g., there is no automatic reset and no added bonus for holding all the lands; you still get mirages) although the level of animosity towards the top-dog is magnified in world chat and forums as others have stated above.

    Increased animosity? Does that just mean hardcore cashshoppers in rival factions spend more?

    Correction: Back when Nefarious held all of Sanctuary's map, coins were still being paid out. The bonus for holding the entire map was double the entire income of each land.

    So if holding the entire map gave 50M total, it then became 100M.

    However, since mirages are now the payout, I wonder if the payment will increase to double as said by the GMs, or if that was only in effect with coin payout.
    I level the old- fashioned way.
