First Boss Quest Troubles

Hey, I'm still fairly new and a barbarian. I just got the quest to fight in the Den of Rabid Wolves and have been having quite a bit of difficulty. I usually don't play with others as it hasn't been needed, but it gets pretty ridiculous in there by yourself. Anyone got any help, advice, etc? Also is it necessary/worthwhile to beat that quest before continuing to Archosaur? (Just getting a bit turned around and frustrated with trying to kill the necessaries in the Den)

Thanks!

You're supposed to do quests like that with others. They're referred to as FBs, and you get them every x9 level with the exception of 49 (which is done at 51). If you were to WC or maybe even speak in common chat in City of the Lost asking for help with your FB19, you'd more than likely get a lot of people willing to help. Higher levels like to help with FBs because the person with the FB will have tabs which can be activated to give other squad members exp, sp, and rep.
I can't remember if you HAVE to do FB19. You might need it for culti (orange quests), and if you do it'd be best to get it done as soon as you can so that you can progress and unlock more skills. It does give a nice weapon though, but the weapon in the level 20 supply stash might be better. The FB19 weapon can be traded for an MP/HP charm from General Summer in Archosaur, though.

The Call to Duty quests (you'll be getting them approximately every 10 levels from now on) aren't meant to be soloed and not even a venomancer (the best solo class at low to mid levels) can solo the Den at level 19. And no, it's not necessary to finish it before going to Archosaur. Just make sure you have your Call to Duty tablet in inventory and ask for FB19 help in Lost or Archosaur. It is possible to do it with a low level squad (19-29) if you're all willing to devote a couple hours to the task; having one or more high levels (40+ can usually solo the FB19 dungeons) will greatly speed the process, but greatly decrease the XP gain and drops from each monster and in particular the drops from the boss.

IIRC the first (only?) FB you have to do is 59, because the bosses in there are the cultivation quest for that step. the earlier FBs are all optional, i believe.

but yes, this game will occasionally throw stuff at you that's designed to force you to cooperate with other players. it's meant to be a social game, and it tries to make you squad occasionally. the FBs are part of that, but by no means the only part; later on you'll run into cultivation quest bosses (not in the FBs) that are hard to impossible to do alone anywhere near the "proper" level.

i haven't played my barb in so long, i forget if the FB weapon or the supply chest one came out better. it was a pretty close thing, though, as it usually is.
