Balancing Sins: An Alternative Idea

The Idea is simple:
1) Give every class an AOE that can be casted on an area without a target (in fact just make existing skills cast-able on an area instead of just targets)
2) Sins who force stealth will be amped a debuff that cant be purified that lasts 35 seconds, that makes them take 5-10x the damage they would normally take.
Simple solution, PWI will still be able to rake in tons of $$$ for people rolling Sins, and there will be a way to knock sins close enough out of stealth.
Furthermore, it would provide a penalty for using force stealth.

Punishment for using Stealth? May as well make Barbs lose HP when they add VIT, or a Wizard's Stone Barrier halves their magic attack.
And how would one cast a spell without a target?0 -

5x-10x is quite neccessary.
As a class that gets to pick who they fight and when they fight you must be punished for when you need to retreat.
A class that is 100% guaranteed the first hit should be severely punished for needing to retreat.0 -

By the way, the suggested penalty was only suggested for Force Stealth. It was not intended to include the Stealth skill itself, only the emergency use one.0 -

I wouldnt get so angry. Your suggestion isn't new and has been discussed alot in General Discussion without much left to be added.
Yes stealth and other sin mechanics are very overpowered in PVP.

I really don't like this. Wouldn't that cause sins to get 1 shot if a slightly lower level sneezes? Double damage sounds bad. 5x sounds like overkill. 10x... x_xangellicdeity wrote: »Simple solution
Simple solutions can cause drastic problems, just like complex solutions. Your second solution would kill the skill itself. The first could cause some nasty balance issues. All in all, it needs work.0 -

u can make things for the sin's unfair like u plan 2 ....or u can make a pot of some sort that raises your awareness lvl so u can see sins stealthing. ever think of that one? but really times 5-10 damage? y not just commit harikari.0 -
Let me be the first to congratulate you on a stupid idea that would involve Devs actually having to work. I mean they would have to re program all the current AOE's and stealth mechanism's. And you see how the Devs are with simple little bugs like rubber banding b:shocked.
Edit:And another thing, stealth pots are in the game, so buy them and make use of them and stop making suggestion threads about stealth. Oh if your going to say "what about higher level sins that I cannot see even with stealth pots ?". Well hur dur there are going to be higher level people than you in the game, so either level to their level or just stay in SZ(For you Pkers) or do not PvP at all(For the non PK servers).0 -

In my opinion the problem with the stealth skill is that in most of the other MMORPGs a sin class has stealth too but once the sin attacks stealth mode is cancelled and there is no way to get into stealth because the skill is in cooldown. That gives the sin still the advantage of being able to get the first hit and being able to attack the target when unprepared but here in PWI things are different. In my opinion if a sin fails to attack out of stealth and stunlock the target to death the sin deserves to die. Giving the sin the chance to get back into stealth after a failed attack to recover is just wrong if you ask me

Uh oh I am being name called by the little kidb:shocked. Someone please notify the Mods before he calls me something worseb:surrender. And by the way I never said anything about the assassin being the same level as you. So stop wasting your time and just quit the game or if you really have the time, keep complaining about assassins stealth :P.0 -
I wonder why everybody is complaining about sins so much. Comparing to the sins from other games i played, the TB assassin seems underpowered not overpowered. If i compare to other classes that are in PWI i don't see how sin can be OP. The very name "assassin" suggests that he should win in 1 on 1. However it's not a good char for 1 vs more. It has short range and 1 ranged atk. Almost all good skills require chi and the "get chi" skills have cooldown.
There are various pills that can increase def, accuracy, atk or offer other advantages. Besides that there are genies that have so many skills to counter assassin. All people have to do is concentrate on the fight and build their chars the right way.0
