Of course PW wants money! Look at it this way..

-They have staff members that are getting paid to do this.
-The huge server/computer this game is hosted on costs a lot, I'm sure.
-Money can also go toward new/updated programming software.
-The music and effects don't just generate themselves. Need to pay studio time for that.

If PW was 100% free, it would be a very crappy game. It wouldn't look as great as it does, it'd look more like a game you play on Facebook or Newgrounds. Do not even say "Well, [this other game] doesn't have a cash shop! You don't pay them!" because you HAVE to pay for the expansions and the membership fee (I'm sure you know which game I'm talking about).

If you don't want to pay PW money, then don't. No one's forcing you to. Yes, the boutique does have good items, but they're not a necessity for leveling. I only bought fashion from there, that's all. I'm a lvl 63 wiz, and I didn't use any Hypers or charms.

Accept the fact that PWE has employees to pay, and quit QQing.

    Nobody expects pwi to be an entirely free game, but right now it's mostly about who has the biggest amount of nickels to put in a sock and smack others with.

    if they are paying for all that how come i cant land anywhere without rubber banding or have me or my mount go off a small ledge without it happening.

    Maybe they just didn't figure it yet ? Even if u give 10 million real cash to a scientist, does that mean he'll find a cure for all kinds of illness tomorrow ? Yeah it's been a while it's in game. And I will agree, that u don't NEED to put cash in game. Yeah if u are into PvP or TW, u will need high end gear, but if ur goal is just to play a game and have fun. You can fare well against almost anything in game with 1/2 decent gear (except maybe world bosses).

    Weird, i'm not 4-5 aps, I have NO TT gear except my fists (Buddha still at my level) and I get called to go tank blackhole devourer in OHT and I don't even have 5k hp, oh and not charmed either. b:victory
    Proud supporter of the new expansion. Sure it has it's share of bugs, like any games. But for a pure farmer/grinder, that's a whole lot of new mobs to go beat up b:chuckle

    You guys are right. I apologize for this unnecessary rant full of obvious points. I admit that I don't have as much PW experience as the rest of you, and therefor, was out of line as to go on a rant. I just wanted to state my opinions. Anyway, feel free to have a Mod/GM delete this thread.

    1) Fair enough
    2)They continue to add servers, even though we don't need them. We have arch, which is, from what I hear, dead population wise, So why do we need so many servers?
    3)PWE doesn't code the game. PW CN does (which they don't even seem to update anything...- the yearly expansion that no one asked for...) Understand that please

    I quit. Nothing ever changes @ PWE or PW CN . Expansion was over hyped. Guild bases (that looked cool) can be destroyed, so why waste the time if your a in a small faction like me.

    ^ He is sooo right. PW is cwl but rubber banding makes me go crazy.....CRaZY.
    Impossible to fight in the air these days coz when ever you cancel flight mode(with out being completly still) you get rubber banded through ur *** >.>
    While you tryna get out of the rubber band, the archer is taking out out one shot at a time.

    Apology, unnecessary as it may be, accepted. My respect for you has pretty much done a U-turn (in a good way), given the contents of your first post.

    I do feel I should correct you on one important point, however.
    -Nobody really disputes the fact that PWE requires money in order to continue operating. You may have gathered this from the other replies. Perfect World Entertainment here in America, on the other hand, does not actually develop this game. They're little more than middle-men who translate China's version for import, and manage the boutique. So you may discard any assumptions about "development" on our end - it's the cash-shoppers over in China paying the bills for the game's progression.
    Therefor, the decision whether or not to give PWE money really comes down to how well they do the managing. Which, by most accounts, took a drastic nosedive in September '09 and crashed into the bedrock in a pool of burning jet fuel with December's infamous "General Summer's" sale. Game is still technically F2P, but PWE's management of it has systematically devalued the "free" experience to a level that a growing number have found unacceptable.
