    A veno without a pet is basically a slightly weaker wizard. So what?

    I think what they meant is that given the same build, gear and leveled skills, a wizard, or any other arcane class, will do more damage than a veno (elemental weaknesses aside). So technically it is a 'weaker' version of a wizard in the magic damage department. They didn't mean that venos are not capable of soloing things that a wizard can.
