As far as I've observed, Lingzi comes to the forums, makes a topic asking about some nerf, such as aps or frost or stealth or whatever and then never shows up again.
That's happened a few times now.
I really wonder where the heck does he get all of these "rumors"? His own head?I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.

Nerfing FC would be bad for PWE. Most sales they get is from packs and most pack items are high level ones. The more high level people, the more items from packs needed, the more demand motivates more people to open them.
Also FC is a great place to make friends and its really fun. Really good place to see who will be fail at their class and who not, kinda tests many aspects of gameplay. A lot of people don't have the brainpower to learn the tactics needed for FC so they want it removed for everyone else just because they can't do it. Actually for me is a good place to spot fails and avoid them in the future. For sure FC takes more skill to do then BH or zhen leveling.
PWI made a huge leap forward from a very grindy and boring game after lvl 70 to a pleasant and team based leveling. Hope they stick to this path and not give in to all the haters who aren't capable of adapting to the game.0 -

Frost is one of the most mindlessly boring things ever created in PW. Even the most fail players can successfully finish it. Only the exceptionally horrible fail there.
Saying you're pro at frost is like saying you're proud to be mediocre.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

Yes FF needs to be rolled back to its standard like the old days with the jade quest and drops..[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=2527935005&dateline=1300027633[/SIGPIC]

Totally agree on that. b:victory
All I see/hear these days is : Oracle, hypers, FC, "I'm gonna make it to 100 in a month, look at me go" Yeah well..I'm in game since end of last March and leveled the good old ways. I did use oracles at some points, but when I did, it was to give ALL exp and spirit acquired to a fresh genie, not to my char. I went FC maybe 5-6 times to check it out and see what the hype was about. I don't cash shop much...did for marriage, flyer and very few packs. To me hyper leveling means I would get high level with not even the cash to afford equipement the level i'll have reached.
I don't wanna be flamed, but I think some people would die for an offer like "Put 200$ in game and get a char already leveled to 105 !! All you need now is to put stats and equip him !"
I do understand to some extend, if it's the 6th char someone is leveling, yeah, quests can be repetitive.
If it's the goal for some to "re-do" a char, why not implement "char exp cubes" non-tradable and account bound ?
As to go back to topic. Rumors are just that...Rumors.. Get me a real CN witness playing expansion and relating with screenshots and it will make it much more believable..Like one here that does a marvelous job at it, just don't recall name right now b:surrenderProud supporter of the new expansion. Sure it has it's share of bugs, like any games. But for a pure farmer/grinder, that's a whole lot of new mobs to go beat up b:chuckle0 -
I'd prefer it if FC never existed, BH is enough, i liked the *challenge* of leveling, getting into partys to either zhen level or grind fishes, butterflys etc, this game is way to cash shop oriented, granted they want to make money, we have been through this **** before, i just dont see the point in making it so easy that we get to end game to fast and get bored to fast.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Not exactly. Eliminating frost will bring abck the zhen parties but will include hypers. ZHen parties back in the day were the way to level in a group and were quite fun.I **** bigger than you...

Not everyone has 24/7 of their life to do commitment to this game. FC is the way where ppl with lifes can both do gaming and irl things. We all die someday, and are you sure you wanna waste your time 2 years just to lvl to 100?

I hear a lot about zhen leveling, but I do not see how that involves any sort of skill. You just sit there with an aoe up, at least for archers, clerics, and wizards. If anything, that would breed ignorant players. At least in frost you need to know squad dynamics and general skills. Best thing for leveling, in my opinion, is bh. But even that isn't a dramatic amount of exp at the higher levels.
If we really wanted to fix the noobs at higher levels, make grind quests give A LOT more exp and make A LOT more grind quests available. For instance, I just completed a level 93 quest to kill 95 Demonic Herculeons (lvl 93). This gives me a measly 66k exp, which is only .4% of the experience I need to get to 94. Each mob gave me an average of 400 exp (factoring in status mobs), which amounts to 38k exp. Furthermore, I only got about 3 new quests at level 93, which doesn't even amount to 5% of the experience I need to get to 94.
The only options I have at this point to get to end game is to Frost or BH. Unfortunately, BH is only 750k exp a day, assuming I can find a squad everyday. If I were to do BH everyday, it would take me 23 days to get 94. This is absurd, and the exp required only rises with level, with the BH staying the same.
Now, you could talk about WQ, which is also only around 200-300k exp if I remember, and that takes awhile of simply flying around. Or Delta, which has steep requirements for squads. I would like to try the Warsong quest I got at level 80, but nobody will take me in unless I am 100. There is also the cube, which gives 1m exp at completion, but that is costly for an archer with 4.5k hp. If I were a cleric with heals, that would be a different story, but as a class with weak defences, I would need a lot of hp food, or a charm.
So this leaves me with the question: what would we do for experience without frost? Efficient, mind you. I do not want to "play" a game for 3 solid hours in which I do nothing but kill the same mob relentlessly for a grand total of 2% exp. Also, killing the same mob over and over does not make a player good. I have a 99 bm friend who is the worst thing I have ever seen. Doubt he could even get in a frost squad. His gear is sharded with a random assortment of mana and evasion. Grinding =/= good.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

While I'll be the first to agree that late game quests need an exp boost, the options you listed level you up faster than you think.
A charm and hp food for cube? Ok. 2-3 mil for a charm that'll last you 2 weeks or more? Sounds nice. Hp food? Dirt cheap. Stack your BHs too, more efficient. And yes, I do WQ everyday.
Suddenly you're looking at around 1.5-2 mil experience a day. Wow, that's like two weeks for lvl 96-97, using only like 2-3 hours tops a day? (WQ can easily be done while cleaning the house or something)
Shouldn't a high level character take more than a day or two to level up?
P.S. FROST BASICALLY IS ZHENNING, except you move after every pull.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I do stack BHs, which is why I lumped them together. I agree that cube is good experience, though I have no tried it on my archer after seeing the kinds of damage I see on my cleric. I've had runs where I get to the mandatory pk room 4 times, and each time that happens its another tick on the charm (maybe multiple depending on how fast the ball kills you). I guess the biggest factor for leveling outside of Frost would then be cube.
And I'm not condoning Frost as a "smart" instance, just saying that it's efficient, and slightly more challenging than zhenning. Also, I agree: the game is about leveling, so it shouldn't be fast. That's why I do crusade orders and my quests. I just like there to be an option for those that do like to level fast to endgame for pvp, or alts.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Sanctam - Dreamweaver wrote: »I just like there to be an option for those that do like to level fast to endgame for pvp, or alts.
For alts at least there already kind of is, bh 100 reward can be experience orbs.
Also, I've never actually pk'd anyone in that room, I just pay the do-all cost XD[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I've been playing this game since November of 2008. I have seen what old Frost and Lunar were, and I have seen what they are now; sadly, they used to be far much more fun than the things that they currently are. Frost requires no more skill than zhenning did, both of which are mindless activities that are done to power level your way to whatever level you want to be. The only instances, going purely based on personal experiences, that taught squad dynamics and teamwork, were random TT squads. But now, everyone either buys their stuff, only go with friends that they made in Frost, or guild mates. I, personally, have ran Frost on my archer with several really nice people that I wanted to bring into Nirvana with me because of the performance that I saw displayed inside Frost. However, upon taking them to Nirvana with me, I was highly disappointed. They didn't perform as well as I had expected them to, and it wasn't due to inexperience with the instance. Now, I'm not saying that reverting Frost back to what it use to be would be a good thing, because I can empathize with those who don't have that much time to devote to a game. I would, however, like to see an option provided to allow us to exercise a more challenging Frost mode. And other points that were made throughout this thread:
We have entirely too many hyper noobs that don't know what they're doing: Yes we do, and Frost will not change that staying the way it is.
Endgame content is lacking: Yes it is, but it's been that way for years and very few changes have been made thus far to make endgame worth it.
The likelihood that they will nerf Frost again with the release of the expansion is highly unlikely. That instance alone brings in a good amount of revenue for the company; would you want to stop something that is making you money because a fraction of your market doesn't like it?Not motivated enough to make another PWI siggy0 -
patch is supposed to turn FC into a mat farming instance again. the new way to level quick is with guild base quests. guild base quests cost a lot to make. thats where pw will get more money, people who charge to get a guild base b:chuckleI hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of title, the character of an honest man. -George Washington0

Likely won't either.
