Well your question was "where do i find better equipment". Well since your a lvl 48 not much you should worry about. just check the tailor and buy the armour most appropriate for your lvl. Dont need to worry much and try the aution. They sell 3 star armours.. Look for 3 star stoneblood coat of plates? There is a mold for about your lvl so check it out too. Well all i did was buy what the tailor offered me and check aution untiil at higer lvls. hope this helps (u also get quet rewards - your almost 50 so check out vest of aries or manufacture your own equipment).

All I can really recommend is learn to use Auction House. IT IS YOUR FRIEND. Also, don't neglect your grinding. Barbs are equipment dependant and if you power level faster than you can keep up with your equipment than you'll suck. There are some nice treasure hunt rings in the 60's too. Also, using the Find Quest tool will give you an idea of what quests have equipment rewards.

Whenever you get the chance to BH/squad with another barb close to your level check out their gear and hp.

It's definitely time to upgrade your gear. Grind a bit, look through the AH and spend some coin. Especially on your axes, a lvl 48 using lvl 20 axes?

As for "where are you heading?" A barbs job is to hold aggro and be able to survive bosses near their level well enough. Reading the guides/forums should give you an idea of what barbs need for that.

you have way more dex than you should at that level. about double what you should have. at lvl 84 on my barb, i had about 50ish dex. other than that....get some better level 40gear/weap AH is very useful, try it (:

as i said about the dex, i'd leave it where it is for a little while untill you need more for gear. right now do about 6s/4v or 7str 3vit for more damage, untill you need dex, then do 6str 1dex 3vit, or something along those lines. that is assuming you want to be a tank.

And you have way to much dex at your lvl. Follow the str and dex requirement for armour and weapon rest to Vit. There are few very helpful guides in this section to adapt the information from

Ghoul, just cause no one crawled into your hug box about why barbs should all quit, don't go polluting other threads who blatantly aren't asking for it

Yes and no, Blacksmithing is a great skill to have at higher levels, but I wouldn't get stuck trying to complete it. The best way to get decent gear at your level is to watch AH (auction house) or random catshops around west arch. You can usually find something half way decent in there cheaply.

also, try to wear what we call "purple armor" it has "3 stars" and a purple color. They usually have the best resistances/bonus's out of all the gear that can be made through blacksmith.

That being said, order of gear from worst to best:

    white
    2star (blue gear)
    3star (purple gear)
gold (mold made , rarely there IS better purple gear than mold gear so keep watching)
green (TT gear the same rules apply that mold/3star may occassionally be better)
orange/super gold (really expensive end game gear)

I was just wondering what grinding is exactly? It's farming for mats to make gear?

Thanks Freizer for the detail... I will have a look at the blacksmith and see what gear I could be making.. I found you have to make around 10 of the item to get something with a star.. any advise on the best way to make your gear..

I dont really understand refining gear either. Or using those stones at the elder.

    Grinding is farming mobs.

The bonuses: Pdef, HP etc. is more important than how many stars the equipment has. For example 2 star with 3 good adds is better than a mold two average adds

Found the ***StoneBlood Coat of Plates(1 Socket) at the AH.. Was going to get the boots as well but at 750,000, that was a little more than I had. And purchased a dual axe from the Blacksmith

Where do you get the Xeno's Sledgehammer from??
