Very Confused Cleric Needing Advice

So I'm nearing the level where gear is going to need to be invested in and things like that.
I've had many people tell me to invest in -Chan gear but is it really that necessary? Won't -6 or -10 be enough? I haven't been in anything higher than Lunar so far and haven't really had any problems with channeling at all. Sure I could have well-springed the sin that stole aggro earlier but.. yeah =P
There's a lot of magic weapons coming up too, right now I have a Silverrain. And I thought of eventually going the path of Purgatory>Neon Purgatory> Petals of Destruction. But now I;m hearing things for Beamhoof Splicer (I have to admit it seems godly as hell.) I was browsing all the endgame Nirvana weapons in the encyclopedia and saw other weapons like Immortal Indulgence, Evanescence, Staff of Sanctuary, Counter-Destiny, Leaf of Buddha...
It's all so confusing b:cry
I'm totally lost on how to get them too.. I know I need to start saving now.. and farming now. And some paths require TT weapon soul-edges, some require Lunar.
Also.. Inb4 Rank gear I'm not going rank, I know its cheaper but I don't care =P Eventually I want the Dragon-Rise Nirvy arcane set. I've already made this my want, since I started PWI basically. Though... I have no idea what to do to get the Dragon-Rise Set either. b:surrender Halp pls.

r8: ~70mil
nirvana g15: over 400mil
sorry, but I cannot say anything else than get r8.
unless u have tons of coins; then go r9.0 -
Already said I wasn't doing rank. Either money or rep would both take as much time since I won't spend money on something I can farm easy. I'm not a cash player.
I guess for this post pretend there was no rank gear. b:thanks[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

70 mil is easy to get via merchanting... That's like two weeks worth of work for a really crappy merchant like me. b:surrender
But if no rank gear, then the beamhoof slicer is technically out since it's the "rank 6" weapon. (Sort of, you need rank 6 to get it though it doesn't come with achieving rank 6). Honestly, the cost of the signs for the r6 weap will proabably AT LEAST be the same cost as the rank 8 rep.
If you are against rank altogether, CV wand is very good (just go for the gold one, forget green). My +7 one sold for 46 mil (ouch) so that's perfectly attainable. You can always make a cheapo TT99 pataka and nirvy that later on and still sell the CV wand for at least what you paid for it.
As far as -chan goes, I like it. My cleric had a base of -27 and it worked nicely for me. Then again, I PK a bunch too, so that influences my decision. -chan isn't strictly necessary but it is nice to have around -20ish or so, I wouldn't bother with more than 35+
Hope that helps, cheers!Proving that not only archers do math since 2009. b:victory

Thank you Decus, was kind of hoping you'd see the post and lend me some advice. =P
About Beamhoof.. 35k rep is a LOT easier to farm then the r8 r9 things. Would take about a good month of solo'ing 59 for fb/stamps for it.
What did you mean by CV Wand.. I suddenly feel very noob for not knowing what that is.
All in all the post did help loads b:thanks I think you for that.
Now I have no idea how to get the gear, and how the Nirvana mat.. forges.. things work.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
The issue with Beamhoof slicer is the Signs needed, not the rep.
And as for the -chan...its nice and helps out, but not totally needed. You can do just fine without a high -chan. And really, the only times I've noticed a difference was when channeling long-a** skills like Chromatic or w/e.
Honestly, I'd go with nice gear that keeps you from dying verses crappy gear with -chan stats. Unless you can afford the nicer gear that comes with -chan, don't worry about it. But, I dont pk. So I'm coming from a healer only position.
Edit: CV means the 95 weapons. Right now is a great time to buy them since many people are pawning them off after getting rank8.0 -

Why me? b:question
Everything Mekkhala said is spot on. The issue with the r6 weapons is not the rep. It's just that some of the signs required for it are difficult to get. Refer to here for information: http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/quest/7100
If my memory serves me, you need ten badges to get one sign. They are found as follows:
Strength badges come from CoA (trading orbs at the end)
Speed badges come from snake island races (have to win and you get one badge)
Wisdom badges can be found through trading DQ orders to the NPC dude for it (I forget how many)
Courage badges are also found in CoA (same procedure as str, but different number of orbs)
Endurance badges are easily attained in DT (mob drops in there and some chests)
Dexterity badges come from completing the cube (5% chance in the cube crate) (and PWdatabase also says "Jungle Crate" too, so maybe you can get them in Jungle ruins though I never did that instance so I wouldn't know, someone else will have to fill me in there)
Bravery badges you get from trading best luck tokens or in CoA
If anyone finds I am wrong there, feel free to correct me. It's been a while and my memory is poor.
I see that my propensity for abbreviations is getting me into trouble again, forgive me b:surrender
In case I caused confusion:
CV - Crescent Valley, or otherwise used to refer to Lunar
CoA - City of Abominations
DT - Dragon Temple
Don't worry about nirvana yet, you can always ask around when the time comes.
Good luck! b:victoryProving that not only archers do math since 2009. b:victory

All NIrvana Gear is, is the upgraded versions of endgame gear. So your first step would be to get the LG( Lunar Glade) Gold Arcane Set if what you want is Dragon Rise then you can worry about upgrading it to Nirvanab:pleased0

instead of using the raptures to make the nirvana weapon, u can sell them and buy the rep required. it's not cash playing
and u cant farm easily r8 with bh59 or any of the rep gaining quests; even before the rep sale people usually farmed coins and bought rep badges.
now I would understand it if you said you want to farm your own armor/weapon.
then the CV want is out of question too since it comes from packs.
I don't think that u can farm it but dont quote me on this.
anyway, u dont want rank, it's ugly, w/e.
Nirvana:
1)Get lunar or tt99 gold weapon/armor
2)spend 100 raptures/uncannies to make it g13 nirvana (the weapon/armor have the same stats with the lunar/tt but refines better
3)spend 150 raptures/uncanies to make it g15 nirvana (weapon/armor refines like the g13 version but has random stats)
4)spend 7 raptures/4 uncannies to reroll the weapon/armor for better stats
note that you loose all refines or shards during steps 1->2->3 unless u use chienkun stones. generally using chienkun stones is more expensive that refining and sharding the weapon again. You also loose the sockets u had: if the tt weapon had 2 sockets it's not granted that the g13 will have 2 sockets unless u use chienkun stones (that's a cashop item btw).0 -
nice to see some clerics realize -%channeling =/= all that, lol
why not just go neon purgatory, TT99 arms, and 1 event ring chaos.
thats -18% channeling right there

Just a bit of personal advice about the Beamhoof here:
I fell in love with this sword (because it looked like the keyblade from Kingdom Hearts b:dirty) when I was a little lowbie and was hellbent on getting it. Although this was when rep didn't come by the baskets, rank 6 wasn't the most difficult part to get, and neither were the Signs of Dexterity, Endurance, Wisdom, and Speed (farmable through cube, Dragon Temple, DQ, and daily race, respectively). Unfortunately, the Signs of Strength, Courage, and Bravery from CoA were not so accessible - I didn't join one of the big guilds that dominated CoA, and I didn't have a HA-herc veno that could solo slowly - so I ended up buying all the badges for those three. Back in the day, Bravery badges weren't so ridiculously priced (I remember buying a few for 1.1mil), but this orange keyblade still cost a pretty penny.
So to this day my cleric runs around with an overrated +8 Beamhoof (well, I'm not going to NPC it now am I b:angry) that's at most so-so in terms of stats by LC's standards. The -10% is nice, but as people have mentioned, channeling isn't crucial for clerics... I wish I had just stuck with my Aquadash (best bang for the buck IMO) and went straight for R8 b:surrender. The Neon, ofc, is a very respectable weapon option as well.0 -
imma guess, decent armor that can be relatively easily farmed(means no CSing)
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
► TT99 gold wrists ~~ its like 2nd boss in 3-2 and mag tankable xD (cleric friend tanked it when i had one of those "dc every 5 sec" times) (boots also for 2 piece bonus, tho gold mat drops from 3--3 BH boss; meaning 3-3 GBA[Dark Colluseast, i think], while green drops from 3-3 Djinscream)
► TT99 gold glaive is still farm-able or merchantable ~~ farm TT80->TT90 glaives and mby merchant the 99 mats or attempt to run some 3-2/3-3 runs (green mats for it are 3-2 emperor, golds are 3-3 emperor)
► Lunar gears depending on demand per server might be hard just cause of finding ppl to go due to the 3mil total fe per squad [500k per member, granted full squad] (RT ppl dont go lunar much so usually few ppl WCing to buy mats needed ><)
► rings eh decent ones are the attendance rings but if u want -channeling might need to merchant/farm coin to buy FC or lunar rings
► cape might be good to farm coin/merchant for a wing trophy or lunar cape [DONT mean the cape shown in lunar forges, that one costs more than lunar wing trophy ><] or can even attempt to farm the lv96 mold cape with +250 ish p def
► neck, eh 87 mold neck or TT90 gold necklace for the +5% hp, if its an option theres also the Cube necklace
► belt, um OHT map culti belts mby? actually decent [4th map belt is b:dirty] which you'd get while doing your OHT culti to open the 4 maps (doing delta would be included in this)
► if u did delta for the OHT belts youd prolly have some tome frags which could be used to make urself a nice tome (+ vit/mag or just +vit or +mag)
► as for hats, eh TT80 is actually pretty decent with its + p def, like a downgraded version of the OHT g14 hat, since its just g10 can be relatively easy made 4 socket also easily farmed [5 drums from 1-3, and 5 chin plates 1-3]
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
now lemme think if i missed anything(btw im sure someone is gonna come out and say "_____ that is crappy gear, get this instead" so best just keep it to urself)
far as i can think/remember atm due to being tired, most of not all of this stuff is relatively easy to farm or get within game if ur active/actually putting in the work for it"Common sense isn't so common anymore." ~ Yusiong - Lost City
