Dorset - Heavens Tear

Ok so anyone whose been floating around Fanatics for a while will know i dabble in Artwork and untill now i didnt have a graphics tablet. well TADA!!! first piece of artwork completed with my tablet. this is a kinda realistic style portrait of Susylu.

Su take this Portrait BY WAY OF APOLOGY for not finishing the artwork of you and your hubby together yet and thanks for being so patient XD i will finish it eventually i promise. Untill now here is a peice for you b:victory. Of course you may despise the artwork here and therefore it is a pretty crappy apology but hey hum.

i was gonna colour it cause usualy people liek it coloured but then i was like MEH i dont wanna colour it it ruined the look.

also would appreciate comments etc. there are faults with it i know but be gentle its the first time ive done something like this with my tablet and im kinda nervous b:cute

xD! You didn't have to apologize! But wow, thank you! It's her first artwork of her done by someone other than me. And no it's not crappy at all what you talking about?

I like your style better with the tablet. Your lines I think became a lot softer, and the details... I like the nose and lips especially, I think you got those down perfect. The texture in the eyes are nice too. The only thing I'd change is maybe moving the right pupil in towards the center a little.

I'd really like to see a colored version (altho I guess she doesn't really have that much color on her lol) and looking forward to any other drawing you'll do of her. Thanks for drawing her. I knew it was worth waiting for

YAY! i hoped you would liek it. yeah i know bout the eye i should prolly change it at some point, i might knock up a version with a lil colour when my exams are over. the reason my lines are so much softer is cause before i literally had to draw the lines by hand then scan them into the computor and colour using nothing more than a touch pad which kinda limited me a lot. but im happy with how i can use it it freed me up a lot

Waterfal - Sanctuary

I would make the eyes a bit smaller in horizontal lenght. Usually you can't see the iris fully, it's cut off a bit on the edges if you know what I mean ^^"

You really have a good feeling for detail and the shadows have been done beautifully ^^
I gotta say you are really damn talented and keep up the good work ;D

This is very good for a first time on a tablet.
I don't think I'll ever show anyone my first time on my tablet. xD Oh Wacom... how you embarrass me~~.

The eyes are a little off- they seem to be looking in opposite directions, but other than that, she is very, very cute n__n;

not bad for a first try on tablet ^^
I like how the lips and nose looks like - very good!

But the eyes scare me a little... but that is already mentioned by others ^^
Only other thing is her front. Don't know how much you worked on it, but it seems flat. No collar bone (at least good visible).
I would suggest trying darkening the shadows and making bigger contrast ^^ As for now - seems a bit flat ^^

Yeah i know i didnt work very much on the front at all i concentrated on the face then had to add teh front in after cause she looked like a floating head xd. The Eyes scare me too a lil i fell asleep with my laptop on last night this morning i woke up to find her staring out of the screen at me. but Hey hum imma do another one today should be good chance to practice eyes. i hope Su doesnt feel to bad that i chose her char to Experiment on xd

Melonbun - Heavens Tear

Very lovely first use of your tablet! You can get very soft nice lines, and cleaner work with one ♥

Critique: things other ppl already mentioned, the eyes do stand out a tad bit, just need to nudge that pupil over a smidge =P
And it's a little bit over blended, with some hard outlines in between. But that's just learning light + shadow and learning when to remove some lines entirely. Where I notice it most is her head piece, but flowers and bows are a royal pain, anything foldy really >.<

But honestly, for a first time playing around with your tablet, this is amazing Dorset! ♥
The nose and lips especially, my first time trying realistic noses were smooshed and really ugly lol. Nice work on the hair too! I love drawing hair. It's the prettiest piece of the picture ^__^
When you feel confident in grayscale, start playing around with color
Keep going! You've got a really good idea of it all right now, just keep polishing it up ♥
