Free wine for BH isnt free if they are demanding to get paid for it. I think that is very rude

In the past free wine might have been something connected to giving up the drops but now a days it is more common for people to offer free wine without compensation. There are still some who try to trick people by offering free wine to get the drops but those scams are not very common anymore.

Personally i always insist on paying even if the wine is offered to be free. If they say they dont want pay even after that then i dont see why i or anyone else should give up drops.

Yet another reason I no longer do BH's.

If I paid for wine on a BH, I would ask for one mold if one dropped, and only if I could use it. Hell, the only time I ever ask for molds/purple gears is if I have need for them, as in, using them.

Then again, every single time I have ever wined a BH, I soloed the entire instance, nobody along with me at all, so it's a moot point for me, really. Or I split the drops pretty much dead even with the cleric if I asked one along.

I buy the wines for our bhs, and the drops go to either of us.

Free wine doesn't always mean getting all the molds + books tho. You should really ask before to avoid drama. Its really not "free wine" if someone wants to make a profit and claims all the good drops tho, is it >_<

A lot of people are just desperate to get help with their BH+FB as fast as possible and they dont really care who gets what in terms of drops. Or thats what ive noticed lately.

Even if might be common courtesy to give molders and books to who ever paid wine, its really not an official PWI rule.

Its one thing if its faction or friends, but with random parties i never agree on pay wine + all drops in higher levels FBs. I insist on paying my share and keeping my drops.

I ALWAYS ask what the winer wants if it's a free run and since our faction pays for wines in full infaction BH runs, I get on A LOT of free wine BH's. The good thing about faction funded free wine is that the drops are random then.

However, we still occationally have individual people insisting to use their own wines quite regularily and I ALWAYS ask what they want for their wine, coins, drops, etc despite the fact that I already know the answer after going with the same guys so many times.

There IS a chance for the winer to get profit out of runs, but with molds costing only 500k max (Majority around 200k) by average the profit isn't really all that much. Also, not having to worry about wine fees means that any DQ/1 star item NPC'd will be PURE profit to me once repair bill is exceeded. On a good BH run it's not uncommon for me to make 20 - 30k profit per run.

Also during normal drops mold and book drops are not all too common and when they drop, it's usually nothing impressive. You'd be lucky to get 1 book from 10 runs... wines cost 200k+ per run, so that means 2 mil+ wine cost in total to get 1 book worth 20k at worst, or 20 mil at best. When you look at it like that you either make over 1 mil debit, or break the bank. It doesn't sound too bad to give the winer the good stuff if they so insist when you crunch the numbers...

Profit? I think it would be safe to assume none of you wine things for others frequently without asking for a fee.

My husband and I will wine any BH we go on, if someone else doesn't. And I assure you, we are currently sitting at a loss if that mattered. We do it to make things go faster.

Now this is just my opinion, but its "Free wine" vs "Wine fee" not free wine = random drops. If I pay for the wine, I expect all the 3*s, molds, books, expensive things given to me. So I can decide what to do with them. Whether I choose to keep, sell, give away is my decision and I expect that right to be given to me.

That said, we've never had anything worth much drop. A few molds that used to be worth the wine for a few runs, but now the mold is in the AH for under 50k.

You can't honestly tell me that I should spend millions of coins on wines and subbing runs for other people's mats in TT over time..and the one time a book drops it should go to some random who didn't want to/couldn't supply wine for the run. Not to mention there have been individuals who knew we would wine and would come for that specific reason.

If you are getting valuable things to drop every run, share your secret. Because that is not the reality of it. And I do not wine/sub runs for profit, that would be stupid. But that book should have gone to the person who wined the run without question. If they wanted to give it to you, that would be their choice. If they wanted to sell it to you really cheap (by comparison) that would be their choice.

The only time I ever supply wine is when no one else in squad wants to. In BH89/99, it is always with the stipulation that all demon cleric books that drop go to me. Nothing else. Just those books. Everything else is random.

I think I'm being rather fair.

But anyway, if it's drops to winer, then please specify at the start of the squad. It makes everything 10x easier.

Free = you don't pay. Winer getting drops (which half the time don't drop anyway, in the case of molds/books) doesn't make it any less free for you.

I always read "free wine" to be the same as winer gets the drops. After all, there is no wine fee for anyone, thus making it free wine, and that is often what draws people in to the squad... most of them knowing that rarely does anything good drop anyway. Still, when I am the one wining, I always make it clear what I want once the squad is fully formed (on this char, that usually being just molds/books since 3*s are pretty much useless from the higher level instances). And I still know that, like yesterday, that means I am probably just losing 250k or so.

When I am in a squad that doesn't specify, I automatically drop for the winer anyway. Not only nice things but **** gear too, unless they tell me to take it back. Because I know how rarely anything of value does drop, and how wine always leaves me at a loss; the few DQs in my inventory would cover my repair costs and I have no problem giving them the rest to cut back as much wine loss as possible.

Well, think of it as a learning experience.
Now you know to ask more questions before you start, and assume nothing.

While there are no specific rules regarding wines and drop split, it is generally known that someone providing free wine gets 3*/molds/books/items of true value.

But if in doubt, ask first. If you don't like their rules regarding it, find another squad.

your fee is ... handing over drops. you say you got a book, so it sounds like eden/brim/SoT/Abbadon. Generally those are done as winer gets books/molds or else its a wine fee in coin.

Of the few times I've done free wine before doing BHs with my soulmate only, I often wondered why people would offer some drops to me x_x.

My thing with free wine is that I pay nothing to get it anyway(technically) so I dont see a reason to charge, also it saves time, and no drama from people not willing to pay their part of the wine split.
