Help A Veno with "Tame Book" Please

Ok, forgive me if this is a repeat post.. have read a couple necro threads and none of them really helped with my situation so I figured I would come here and chance asking it once more.

I recently picked up a "Tame Book" which, in its description states it "upgrades pet skill by one level" but, sadly, I have no clue how or where to go to use this book. I have been to the Pet Manager, Pet Skill Trainer, and Mrs. Zoologist (all in Archisaur) and have, as of yet, found no option, heading, or anything else to use this book. Frankly, it feels like the NPC is just a blatant ripoff.

Me and my pet are both level 40 so it is not a level issue as he is the right level to be at level 3 of his main skill (sadly he is level 2) and I would like to make him a bit tougher for beating the snot out of some antelopes lol.

The old threads I read had people telling the OP that he needed enough spirit also, well, all my skills are listed (of course not enough spirit) so, if I can just get them with spirit anyways, why do I need this book ?

Please help... be as specific as possible because I am not the brightest tool in the shed please.

You use the Tame Book at Mrs. Zoologist, under the "Teach Your Pet Skills" heading. Make sure you have the pet active before teaching him a skill. You'll need both spirit and the book to give your pet the next skill level. When you learn the skill, it won't consume extra money.

As to why they didn't just get rid of the book and add a cost for levelling pet skills, I haven't the foggiest.

Which skill are you trying to level? If you've got the tame book in your inventory, it should be showing up. Some skills don't go up to level 5 though (such as Pounce). It sounds like you've been doing everything else correctly.

Well, since me and my pet are both level 40, I was hoping to get him to level 3 bash. I am a bit shy on spirit so I guess that explains it... you would think that, for the cost of that Tame Book, you wouldn't need anything else and it would just give you a list of current skills and would upgrade one of them for ya.

I guess I will just grab an extra 6K spirit and see what happens. Thank you very much and I will be sure to post back.

Np. And yeah, spirit can be a bit of an issue, but after you hit 70+, you'll have plenty to spare. At lower levels, just try to prioritize what you want (skills, pet skills) and catch other things up as you're able.
