grinding level gap

Why would a level 80-something keep grinding level 33 mobs? Is it profitable at all? I ask because it's starting to get annoying when a level 80 in the area keeps 'helping' me kill the monster I was beating up, and sometimes getting the drops instead. This has been for the past... I think, week, at least.

I'll assume its a Bot farming for a specific item (hay perhaps). Maybe find a new place to grind in lol

it may be a bot. whisper them to ask why they're doing it, and/or ask if they'll squad you so you'll get some benefit from it; if they don't respond to human interaction like a human would, odds go up that you're dealing with a bot.

(a bot run by a very stupid botter, if they're setting a level-8x on level-3x mobs. but hey, if they weren't stupid, why would they bother botting?)

botting is a banning offense, of course. if you become convinced for whatever reason that the character isn't under human control, consider reporting it to a GM. i've seen what rampant botting can do, in other MMO's, and i for one don't want to see it in PWI.

there is a lvl74+ quest that requires 50 hay (that drops from mobs <34).

considering the drop rates he will be grinding for at elast 3 more weeks (and he is an idiot or veeeryyy bored)b:chuckle

what's the name of the mob?

He doesn't respond to anything, but I don't think he's a bot because he does change location several times, and grinds on at least 3 different mobs in the same area without always picking up everything. They're all spider-types so the only notable drop is the Purified Oil. Backstabbing Scorpion is one of them I can remember. Now that I think back, he might just have Proxy Visual set low so he can't see me beating up those mobs every time.

Maybe he's trying to level his alchemy. Currently, I'm stuck on the blacksmith lvl 4 myself, since the tailor ate all my materials... and you can't really get materials at higher levels anymore.
Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng

wit the speed you can level up an alt, he would be much better off getting an alt to mid 30's and farming with that.. or honestly, grinding at level 80 mobs, getting dq drops, selling those, and using the coin to buy what he needs... seems like either a bot, or just a rather foolish/lazy person

some people have the stupid idea that their time is worthless...
so they spend hours farming stuff they could buy with money they could make in half the time if they farmed better xd
