is there a way to turn off world chat in default normal chat? if I hear "lv 90 looking for barb" one more time I might rip the screen out of the monitor.

    -Hit your "Settings" icon in the bottom right corner. Looks like a cog.
    -Click the icon that looks like a computer window.
    -Go to the UI tab.
    -Select General chat, then uncheck World

    Bingo.

    well, can't see it in the UI bit but in the game tab next to it there are chat modes and tick boxes, however world system and whisper are locked in "common" mode which I assume is normal mode...

    ...use different mode and modify to work like common without world?

    ed: ignore the last line wouldn't work, general is for the other box (xp and system stuff) so there is no different mode to modify.
