knife throw verification

today during bh 59 i used knife throw to lure glutt who was a little bit away from the four archers. then a little later i used knife throw again to lure ofo from the middle of the four mobs around him. and some time ago in bh51 i lured the two mobs right beside wyvern. so my question is..if i use knife throw on the boss is he the only one imma get and the reverse if i use it on the 2-4 mobs around bosses am i only going to get the mobs and not the boss?

In some places, like mobs and Wyven or mobs and Ofo, they are not chained together for aggro so knife throw, or any other ranged attack can pull them separately. However, knife throw cannot pull one out of a group that are chained together for aggro like Earthflame or Veno's pet can. For example, when you knife the 2 mobs by wyv, both come since you still aggroed the entire group, just that Wyv isn't part of the group. Where as if you used Earthflame or veno pet, only one will come.

If you Knife Throw mobs around a boss, you shouldn't catch the boss.
