Hey guys, ive picked to try out a wizzie

I have heard that it will be a long, and bumpy ride, but im in it for the endgame and im comitted to playing a wizzie cuz i love seeing Big Numbers.b:victory


Feel free to post anything here(tips,advice,etc)

the long bumpy ride got a bit shorter now,
those guides were mostly written before updates for powerful lvling



just dont be disappointed when u reach "endgame"
ur not very useful outside of Territory War
but i dont think a assasin or a bm come even remotely close to the fun we have in there... once..or..twice..a..week

advice:
dont mess up your build with 1. too much of vit, 2. any dex at all

when u die too much it doesnt mean u need more hp
it means u need more damage! xD

they were in the good old days im not sure if this is the case any longer after endgame tideborns are around now

Its a long bumpy ride to nowhere, my friend. If you want to be useful to a squad, or to be able to pk, don't play a wiz.

If you like being different, don't mind dying constantly in pk and tw, don't mind having to use rl $ while others can farm mats for their gear, don't mind being specifically excluded from squads, are happy doing tw a few times a week and the rest of the time just using the game as a great big chat room . . . . .

Roll an arcane wiz, get some friends, and have alot of fun. Even though dying is inevitable, being a glass cannon is a blast. In your 70s, make sure you can tank Zimo. When you can, you've got it right. And, when u get to Frost, you'll remember this post. It's perfect for arcane wizards. Insane fun.

Don't know why you quoted me, but since you did I'll respond.

Tanking Zimo? First I have ever heard this as a test of anything. He could probably tank zimo with light armor, but few would use that as evidence that anyone has gotten anything right, even the biggest LA wiz advocates on these forums (b:thanks).

And Frostcovered city is one of the few instances where people don't discriminate against us, thats true, but don't forget that is predominantly a level 85 instance that people spam through to 100 because of hyper exp stones. I am glad you enjoy it. Eventually (lvl 101, maybe 102) you will tire of it.

But even there lately, people want 5 aps sins more than us (go with 2 lvl 100 sins and a lvl 100 bm sometime, the shock trooper boss literally drops in seconds). All the exp at those levels is after the big room, boss intensive, and the dragoons tend to drop DB anyway. And hell, at lvl 100, your squad will kill the mobs in the big room before you can even channel DB. b:surrender

I wasn't making a comparison between LA and full arcane. I wasn't talking about LA at all. I was talking about full arcane. And, for full arcane...yes...tanking Zimo is a big test. IMO

But a test of what? I get that at some point you did it and were impressed with yourself.

But you said tank zimo and you've got IT right. What's IT?

You could probably tank zimo with elemental ornaments, but thats hardly a good build for an arcane wizard.

You could probably tank it with 150 points in vitality, but again, not a good build.

I've tanked pole and brig in my 80s I think, but I wouldn't say that doing so means anything more than that.

This statement speaks for itself. You had warsoul helm and expensive gear, and/or you were LA. But, we do know you were LA. And, this is how you tanked Pole with a pro cleric. I'd love to see a video of it.

See, I never had any gear to speak of before 80 (just stuff from drops and maybe a few dollars for legendary wep...but all in all, truly insignificant gear). Before 90, especially, my gear has always been average to below. But, I've always been arcane. So, I'm speaking to noobie arcane wizards with nothing more to spend than some lunch money....not you.

Zimo is nice test to evaluate your game.

if u want hardcore fun do your fbs unwined with a squad full of people who actually are at the lvl of the fb

i remember hours of fb79 again and again and again for every squad member

I didn't think I was great at 7x. lol You fool. But, then again u have no idea what I'm talking about cause u were LA (and that's cool too)
