cleric rank equipmet

So does it really matter getting rank equipment on cleric? The minus interval on light armor is great for the PEW PEW classes....but I honestly don't see all that much benefit to the minus channeling for cleric. The weapon is good no denying that, but as a cleric will it really make a huge difference? My thoughts are that a pure cleric has great magic defense but little physical defense so rank equipment isn't gonna change the "squishy factor" I might hit a bit harder but again......Its not like I will be nuking bm/barbs like a psychic for wizard. So is it really worth the big investment (Big as I play for fun and try to mostly spend game money) I buy a bit here and there....Maybe 20 dollars a month at the most...more like every 2 months.

    Channeling clerics are the awesome.

    Heals go out faster, especially the important squad heals that have LONG channeling.

    Your long channel heavy damage attacks, like Tempest, suddenly will not have long channeling times, and therefore, you can do MASSIVE amounts of damage, at the cost of lots of mana.

    So, yes, channeling is like crack for Clerics.

    Is rank gear worth it? that's a personal question to you. I probably will get some rank gear for my cleric, but I'm not gonna pay for any R8 or R9 gear. >_<

    Ty for your fast reply I look forward to hearing more talk....Yes I was thinking at this point get maybe 6 (only like 10 bucks or a few million game money) This is an easy investment, I get a good ring, pants and a top. This seems like a good investment but to spend the addition 60-70 dollars to get a weapon...eh? Especially when knowing myself I will dabble in the Seeker when it comes out:)

    Base damage of the r8 weapon alone justifies getting r8. The difference is huge, and not only for attacks, but also for heals. The Rank chest with the -6chan is awesome if you stack channeling anyways, and -chan for cleric can never be wrong cause your heals will be faster (so will attacks tho.... with my channeling gear my macros wont work anymore b:cry). Even if you dont nuke barbs/BMs like wizzies or psys, plume shot with alot of -chan can be deadly to robes even if weak at lvl 100+.
    I have a cleric lvl 101 and a Psy lvl 97. Psy using 97+7 Mold weapon, Cleric r8+7 weapon (even with crappy shards) and my cleric can outdamage my psy with black voodoo already. So you should really consider getting rank 8, even if you dont attack much, it is also beneficial for supporting b:victory
