Hello there! I'll make this as short as possible: I want to start playing a Barbarian. I am aware that it is a male character but... I like tigers so much! Been playing a veno for so long that I am tired of the "fashion requirements" lady characters usually get. I think a Barb can go with no-fashion and still look awesome in that powerful armor... :) (I really can't afford fashion, I don't pay anything for this game, and just play for fun. So I need a class that can look good without fashion and WITHOUT revealing so much panty and cleavage. Ew. >:U )

So to the point: Tell me what is the best build for a Barb, how much points to add where annnd some tips. <3

P.S.: Of course I am going to tell people I am a girl playing. Hope there's no problem in that u.u there are lots of male veno's out there too anyway. u_u

Firstly, I made it all the way to level 100 on my veno without buying a single piece of fashion. Sure, the early level armor is a bit skimpy, but it gets better from TT70 onwards XD. So there's not really a fashion requirement. Just do what you please.

Secondly, there's a bunch of very nice guides in the barbarian forum that you can check for barb builds. They should explain the basics, and the rest you'll learn from experience.

Thirdly, nobody really cares what gender you are in RL. As long as you're not trying to start a RL relationship with someone. Which is stupid anyway.

Did you take a peek in the Barb subforums, dear? There are tons of helpful threads in there, especially the stickies (or so I've found), which tell you stat points, skills to level or not level...etc.

    Here's a really good guide

    http://pwiguides.guildlaunch.com/gwiki/index.php?page_name=SylenThunder%27s_Barbarian_Build_Guides&gid=165743&page_id=

barbs are a bit slow at first and it takes some skill to watch aggro. They can be hella fun to play though.

I don't like any fashion on my barb. I hate the fact that he even has underpants. He looks like a bloated furball. Seeing a tiger barb in those clothes makes me think of people dressing up cats, and the impending pissed off look on the cat's face.

As katzyn said, there are a lot of good guides. The best thing to do is to read those. If you are looking just for PvE, then i'd say go pure tank/vit build (My build :D ). This means put the minimum str and dex needed for your armour/weapon, and the rest into vit. As for how many points you need each level, i'm not quite sure. You could try 3 str, 1 dex, 1 vit every level. You will most likely have to alter that, because i'm quite sure that barbs can't really fit into the whole, "each level gets X amount of stat points" that most people like to follow. You really just have to figure out what exactly you would like to do, then make it happen. Finding a good guild will help you also.

Yes, 5.0 really is OP. Yet, I still got it... b:chuckle

Without reading guides I can tell you a few things from my own personal experience.

    Basic Stat Point Allocation:
3 str, 1 dex, and 1 vit until 60-80 dex or to help with lower levels go 3 str & 2 vit until around level 25.

Although once you get your tt90 it wouldn't hurt to buy a reset so you can transfer some dex and str in to vit and that also goes for tt99 *points a sign*

    Skills I've found most useful/helpful:

    Human:
    Group/Self Buffs>Mighty Swing>Onslaught>P. Armor>Armageddon

    Tiger:
    FR>Devour>Invoke>Sunder>Roar>Self Buff

    When mobing:
    B. Rage>Invoke>Roar>Sunder>Run to party

    Both Human/Tiger
    Bestial Rage & Passive
It's a game and I'm proud to be a stupid fail demon barb!
My EPIC Fail Demon Barb has 40k/48k HP and my stat points are as follows:
    VIT 552 STR 310 DEX 60! b:surrender

About stats. You must learn str and dex for weapon and armor for your lvl. For example: I'm lvl 10, and i go to the blacksmith and watch weapon(double axes) on lvl 17. Watch how much str and dex it's required and learn thenm, the rest stats i poot to vit. So on 17 lvl i can wear thees axes.
You must put off all stuff that give bonus tu stats, when you want to learn stats, always. Then when you will about 50+ lvl, go to the Archesour, and watch 60lvl axes from TT, how much str and dex they required, then axes from TT 70, and so on.

So, i repit it again. Str and dex only for weapon on that lvl, the rest to vit. =)

3STR per level keeps you current on axe/hammer and heavy armor. Cap your Dex at 50-60, you won't need more. Just check the stat require for the TT axe/hammer, you won't need more dex than that. There no exact number of dex for each level because it sort of jumps a little for the lvl 10 Supply Stash weapon. So keep a few points on hand, just in case. Pile as many points into Vit as you can, but don't worry too much about dying until after lvl 20. Never put any into magic.

If you plan on tanking, Flesh Ream is the most important skill for this, it's best for grabbing agg. Sometimes you might have to spam it if you have powerful DDs in your party.
Heavy armor makes you weak against magic, but Alacrity of the Beast cancels opponent channeling. It takes some practice, but pay attention to when a boss or mag mob starts to channel and cancel it. Alacrity is our friend. Many boss aoe starts with a channel so this can save party members too.
