Rep Sale... the great equalizer for squishies?

Think about it. All of the -int chars that make money hand over fist already have rank 8 or were well on their way without spending a dime on it, but rather on their gear.

They spent tons and tons of gold/coins to refine their gear so they can farm and make money.

So I think this sale is for the squishies out there, complaining they can't farm their gear because no one wants them. Well congrats, squishies, for a one-time investment, you can be competitive in pvp again!

Seriously, am I the only one that sees this? Here's the bottom line, everyone: without cash shopping initially, you will not be able to keep up with those that do. Period.


tl;dr: This sale really only helps the squishies of PWI that can't farm their own cash in nirvana/TT because those that can already easily obtain rank 8. For far less than the -int crowd spent on gear, you too can be competitive now.

Haha! I came on the forum just to say this myself.

Think about it people. All those OPS Sins and stuff you hate... Never paid jack for R8 if you look closely at most of them. And with R8 being so cheap, damn near everyone can have it if they want it.

Added into it that R8 is all in refining and sharding, its not like theyre just gonna become OP in 200 clicks and 100 gold.

So... as much as I think it makes R8 effortless and therefore no longer a goal to aim for, it DOES help level the playing field a whole lot b:victory

Are you trolling or what? If you don't cash shop in this game you are squishy, period. Also, the problem wasn't that magic users were squishies, even though we really are but that's part of being any kind of mage, the problem was that int dds were so much better than mages. To me that was never a problem though...

well what u get now is that everyone benefits the R8 apart from barb and BM. Barb cuz they get hit alot harder and BM simply cuz R8 fails for them. u could see this as a good thing for squishy but dont forget that the most OP class ingame and the worse enemy for squishies "the sin" (dum dum dum) will get even more OP with easy R8 top interval.

u do bring the BMs down but the class what everyone complains about the most is even more OP now. next thing to do

- no inner harmony
- force stealth cost 1 spark instead of give 1 spark
- every single skill u use in stealth kicks u out of it even selfbuffs

do that and then the pvp will be balanced again. ofc still no one wants a R8 wizard if u can get a 3,33 aps+ for nirvana to but some things never change

I dont get the whole QQ about this to be honset. Accepted that its no longer an achievement of sorts and can be easily acquired, but its not like you get rank8 and youre immediately OP. There is still the question of refines, shards, etc.

People who can afford the +10s and +12 refines and vit stones, gems, etc would be able to afford r8 even without these sales or have gear which easily makes a low end rank8 look pathetic in comparison.

The major impact of this however is the gold pricing which would come down once the sales are over (if theyre not permanent that is).

It seems a lot of people are overreacting (once again) at a change. I'm checking the stats on some of the r8/9 gear, and it's still **** for certain classes (r9 still sucks for veno, r8 sucks for barbs). I'm interested in knowing what classes is r8/9 is actually good for. So far I'm only seeing Archers and Wizards, (possibly sins) but I haven't checked the tideborn classes yet. R8/9 is good for clerics but IMO not good enough to spend ~1b ingame coin on.

The main intention is to keep gold prices inflated to encourage more people to charge zen. Even if the sale ends they will probably throw in another sale to keep gold at current prices.

Go to PW calc and show me the difference in damage between a +10 neon purgatory and a +10 R8 weapon on a wiz. I guaranty you, filtered through any lvl 100 HA defenses, its not likely to be even 500 hp difference.

It certainly is 10x the damage. So stop making a "game is dead" mountain out of this rank 8 molehill.

A lot of idiotic responses in this thread.

The issue really isn't with Rank 8. Rank 8 used to be a little more expensive than a G15 Nirvana weapon. Now it's 1/3 the cost of one.

Still, that's not the real issue.

If you would have sold 250 Raptures a week ago, that would have covered half the cost of wha a full set of Rank 9 costs now.

Rank 9 set = +60 attack levels +20 defense levels.

Nirvana is now obsolete and overpriced. People who farmed it got screwed.

People who don't cash shop has had the value of their gold deflated even more. They got screwed.

Rank 9 = vastly overpowered for ranged classes.

5 aps broke the game. Rank 9 for every ranged class will break the game even more.

Seriously... The only people who aren't complaining are probably cash shoppers. GL have fun.

Both sharded with 2 G11 Sapphires (assuming you got lucky with sockets on Lunar weapon, rank 8 always comes with 2 sockets).


Neon Purgatory +10: 11471-11580 Mag. attack

Nature Talker +10: 12886-15180 Mag. attack

Not to mention for rank 8 you also get chest with -6% channeling, legs and a ring with -6% channeling, 4% crit.


In fact, go and check out: Lunar weapon +12 is still weaker than r8 +10.


3-4k more base magic attack, you should know what that means on a wiz b:bye


Time to stop wasting time on getting better gears, buy some cool fashion, a lot of teles and just have some cyber fun

Gimme a break. No caster could farm nirvana. They certainly couldn't do it as fast as the melee classes and more often than not the melee classes actively excluded casters from Nirvana squads.

It will help balance the game somewhat, and maybe you will just have to pk a wizard with your brain instead of just charging at him with wreckless abandon. Agreeing with this. In my eyes, the game is much more balanced between melee and caster classes now (except perhaps veno, rank eq always sucked for them).

Also wanted to mention that r9 is still 1.5 billion ingame coins. Not an easy feat for most people. Everyone's throwing r9 out like it's as easy to get as r8. In reality it's still going to take a lot of work. I guarantee there won't be tons and tons of r9 appearing out of nowhere anytime soon.

True. People used to +10 TT90 gear. Nirvana replaces TT for end game, and now (for some) R8 will replace nirvana. So what? If you want the game to be frozen in time don't play this type of game.

Excuse me random people of perfect world, but if you are one of these...Squishies that cant farm TT/nirvana like the others, how exactly do we get this R8 without spending real money?

As a cleric i can make between 100-800k per run depending on drops and if we can stay alive long enough to kill some of the harder bosses in TT3-x, but added with repairs, mp food, rez scrolls (cause you know you want to complain when a cleric dont have one) and getting the armors and weapons to participate in these money making activities in the first place, its a slow process to making enough coins.

That being said, im just peeved i spent my 60 gold on Demon skills 2 days before this sale...damn damn damn damn!!!!b:angryb:angryb:cryb:cry

OHT gear can be better than tt99 gold (At least for arcanes)
ofc, i'm not talking about +50% endurance but 3x94 pdef etc.
the only gear that is definitely better than oht are the tt90 legs which are probably the best legs in game
