My step father who is Swiss german pointed this out, that if we were in his counrty and in his house it would be considered rude to speak english because most people would not understand what was going on, and therefore he made it a rule to never speak swiss in a house full of english speakers. He said it was only polite behaviour. There are old Warriors, and bold Warriors,
but there are very few old bold Warriors. b:chuckle0 -

People talking in their own language doesn't bother me TBH, it's no more annoying than Yanks and their lazy *** English .. color instead of colour etc. b:chuckle[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Unfortunately, that's a foreign (pardon the pun) concept to most people. I don't play a German only game simply because i don't speak that language. It would be highly offensive (to me) if I were to just start playing one, and speaking only english in any circumstance. Some people risk to employ me

Are those two cybering? ._.
Anyway, to the related topic:
I would like a burrito and a taco. And one of those new volcano tacos too and ehhh, I guess I'll have some nachos too.
That's what I usually say in squad when someone speaks Spanish to someone else in squad and I can't understand, usually pisses them off and provides me with laughter.
On WC though, I couldn't care less. You can blacklist people or simply turn WC off or ignore it. It's nothing different than having 2 completely random people who no one has ever heard of argue on WC about how "that guy mined my pig iron!" or some ****.
It's much more painful to understand idiots, than not know what they're talking about.
Plus, I like to pretend I only speak English and sometimes I squad with people who speak another language I speak as well, and they'll be trash talking someone that's in the squad with us. At the end I just say something in their language and it usually makes them leave squad in embarrassment
tl;dr:
Black list or ignore them. But to say they're not allowed to use foreign languages in WC. Well then I say to you, PWI. Go fix all the grammar and spelling translation mistakes, because if I were to get all nit picky on you. PWI won't qualify as an English game, more like Engrish

Wtf lol, forums just killed half of my post there and I am even unable to edit it. Language filter? b:chuckle But yea, those evil foreign people really should stick to English. They might plan terrorist attacks in WC. b:surrender0

This is america learn the language!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11b:angry You dont go to france and say "why is everyone talking french?" I have to say my foreign counterparts who play this game are almost always horrible at it.
-end satire-
lol on a serious note this version of pwi is geared toward Western markets not any others. although i must say i think PWI should open up a spanish speaking server and have it somewhere in south america. so many people talk spanish in this game.0 -
Not going to even bother reading all this..... just wantto point out if it hasn't been:
A: wtf GM's are watchign WC agian? bout time they start doing something about the **** in wC lol and by that I mean the b.s spamming and fights and bad language kids playing can see. honestly i could care less if somone's speaking something besides english, but then again I'm not a GM.
B: Again just because it's Perfect World International doesn't mean they have to cater to the WORLD. It's based in CALIFORNIA, the GM's are from the US (i'd assume since they work THERE...), and yes you do have to speak ENGLISH in WC. I've read it on here before from a GM myself in a old post.... if you dont' belive me go look if you feel like spending 2 days looking.. They can't monitor WC if they dont' know what the hell you're saying.
C: To the person on page one that said "I have right's here in the US I can speak spanish if I want to". no.... you can't. Not in WC.0 -
It's not discrimination. I have played many games some that your only allowed to speak in English on and you can get banned for someone sending in a SS of you not speaking English. The reason for the world chat thing is probably the same reason others games only allow English period. The GMs probably only speak English and must be able to understand you to know if your violating the rules.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

then they should finally learn that i bet at least 30-40% of all players playing pwi r not from northamerica, meaning possibly 30-40% of the ppl charging zen are not from northamerica. and 30-40% is nothin to ignore
+ the do earn enough money to employee a few GMs that r aware of foreign languages, anyways even if it was in the rules, then again rules r written in english, now if i dont understand the language i dont know to talk in english only.
and yes i can say this, since any instruction is written in multilanguages.

a former post said there is nothing the the rules of condiction (or whatever that is called) that there is no line that says " English only"
C: To the person on page one that said "I have right's here in the US I can speak spanish if I want to". no.... you can't. Not in WC.
uhm, human rights and constitution and laws > game rules
and thats in any direction, if u call a lawyer for this circumstances, i bet u would win
(btw not that i would go that far. but i can imagine ppl spending hundreds or thousands of dollars could go that far.)
