I buy from CS. Only fashion, charms, and mounts. I buy charms so I'm not restricted to the cookie cutter the pet take all aggro BS everyone tries to push on me. I'll never buy a hammer. Once I hit 50 Imma sell my stash even if I don't get any coin from an NPC for it. I'll not pay for something originally given to me ingame. But maybe those who shell out for a hammer know something about that box I don't.

The irony there, though, is that in all of those angst-filled "WTF! Gold is too high!" threads, people were overlooking the fact that Gold was actually under-priced. So while lots of people were calling Gold buyers like myself idiots, we were busy making fortunes.

"OMG gold for 1mil!" 1mil was the highest price for 1 piece of gold while there were ~40 ~800k. i was tempted to put 1 gld for 42mil but 840k fee, nah

Think about how I feel after my break. When I left gold was still hovering between 60k and 80k I come back and it's 500k. Talk about mind ****. When I checked the gold trade my first thought was do I really wanna come back to this game. B4 I was able to save up and get bronze charms with coin in between pay checks. Now I am thoroughly boned. (in the words of bender)

I miss when gold charms would go on sale and people in cat shops would have them for sale at 300k.

I would buy a charm, AoE grind for 2 or 3 hours, then buy another charm and have like 1-2m coin in profits after pots, charms and expenses.

Before when i am still don't understand how to use AH gold trading.
At that time gold just recently go to 100k i still don't know much at that time, so i don't think it as something important.
Not long after that chest of coin appear then i found out . . i wish time to revert back. b:sad

I've charged plenty of zhen too,and i dislike what pw is doing with the economy,infact i'd be perfectly happy if this did go to pay to play,it would be infinitley cheaper on most people to try to compete with the powerfull players.

The perfect hammer is a complete joke,pw do the decent thing for once and stick it an npc shop.its bs charging new players 5 gold for it when thanks to your manipulation of gold pricing you've raised the price to 700k+ per.

Infact a lot of the pricing in the boutiqe is now a complete joke,newer players shouldn't be charged a fortune just to open up some more inventory and bank slots,and the account stash is way overpriced.

It doesn't take any real life money to merchant. My wife and I made at least 50m on d.orbs alone during the sale. The fact that you have no imagination on how to make coin is no fault of PWI's. Gold skyrocketing does suck but nothing you can do when players decide the gold prices and they have decided 800k+ is what they will pay for one gold. Learn to adapt. I liked it last year when I started and gold was under 100k but obviously those days are gone.. the fun part, that's your own thing. It just looks like you're trying to find a reason to QQ and blame someone else.

This would also imply that everyone needs to know how to work the merchanting market. Problem is, if they did no one would buy anything.

Inflation occurs naturally in an open style market. In order to compensate for the inevitable rise in prices for goods, the base end of the economy has to inflate with it. That means higher base pay for the working class, in order to support the middle and upper class. Without the working class, those who manage and control the goods have no one to sell their goods to, and thus a free market will collapse.

The problem with PWIs economy right now is that its market is inflating too fast, while the base income for the working class (grinders/farmers) is being nerfed to be even lower than it was previously. That, is a major problem that will ultimately **** everyone when the bubble collapses.

When I started AoE grinding, I could make 6-10 gold per hour after expenses. Now, if you're lucky with drops, if I were the same level, make 1 gold.

Prices really aren't the same. Merchanting was far more profitable early on when there was much less competition.

Dragon Orbs were actually more expensive. There was a permanent price reduction some time in early 2009.

I'm a newer player, and I'm pretty INFURIATED at some of the things I've seen (the little gimmicks the game does to get your money, not being able to compete unless you spend $500-$2000, and so on). And if I were an old player who was level 100+ and had some pretty awesome gear, I would be condemning the newer players who were complaining. Whining little lazy jerks. Right? I think it's a conditional. . . whatever you wanna call it. On the up side, it's still a free to play game. Being the best at PvP isn't the sole goal, is it?
