Thanksgiving

So as everyone in the USA knows, tomorrow is the day dedicated to friends, family, and the consumption of mass quantities of turkey, mashed potatoes and pie better known as Thanksgiving. The day where we all gather around the table (or in my case four) and eat till we're stuffed. And then eat some more. And we all have our own traditions, and I was thinking just how many different ways of going about this holiday is carried out. So how about it? How does your family spend Thanksgiving?

As for me, my extended family and a few family friends (often numbering in the 20-40 range depending on the year) gather at my house. For the most part, most people roam around the living room and kitchen and talk about stuff. I on the other hand spend my time in the lower level of the house and get myself run ragged by the bundles of infinite energy better known as my younger cousins.(b:chuckle) When it's finally time for dinner we go for it buffet style. Various people bring foods in upon arrival and set it up on the kitchen counter, and we line up and take what we want. After dinner things mostly go back to the pre-dinner activities until dessert. This is handled in much the same way as dinner, but with a bit less being taken. All in all, lots of food, lots of people, and (since a few of my relatives stay over due to the trip involved not being worth a single day) several very full days.

Be nice to people

    Of course, there's dinner.
I had a Thanksgiving tradition for a while where I would rent those old Sinbad the Sailor movies. The old ones with Ray Haryhousin stop-frame animation monsters. It didn't really catch on with my family. And now the days of video rental stores is ending.
