Hello! Quick question or two

Hello everyone!

I've been trying to find an MMO to get into for a long time now. Wasn't expecting much from Perfect World, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. Especially the amount of character customisation.

Anyway, to the point. I've tried a few classes so far to get a general feel for them, and I was wondering which classes don't require much real money to be quite effective with? I don't mind spending some money, but there is a limit.

I don't expect to be some unstoppable killing machine. But as long as I can be helpful and at least somewhat competitive, I'm happy.

Thanks for any help and advice!

Edit: I should mention that I'm fairly flexible. I don't have a favourite class to play. I'll pretty much play anything.

I'd say either of the tideborn classes, depending on if you like melee or casters. :)

the traditional answer is veno, partly because of the flexibility of gameplay. that might vary, though, if you feel you need (or feel pressured into getting) a herc pet; matter of opinion, perhaps. but it also depends on what you want to be effective at --- PVP is very different from PVE.

    Thanks guys :)

I probably will spend up spending some money on the game, but when I'm saving my money for a number of important real life things, I need to be careful that I don't get carried away.

In all the MMOs I've played, I've never got into PvP much. But that was mostly because the PvP wasn't very good in those. I'm thinking of getting into PvP now though, to make a change.

I enjoy pretty much any type of class. I've played fighters, mages, assassins and defenders in other MMOs. Assassin, Archer and Venomancer look most tempting.

Out of your three choices, veno is the least expensive (barring getting a herc/phoe) with archer being the next least expensive. Sin...is actually rather expensive due to being a squishy melee-range DD.

About the herc/phoe...you DO NOT need it to play a veno. Unfortunately, most people are idiots and don't like to have non-herc'd venos in party at higher levels (80+).

I forgot to mention I mostly play solo during the early part of MMOs. Are there any classes I should really avoid if I'm soloing at the start?

All classes are pretty much on their own from 1-39 apart from the occasional partying with others for random quests, needing the fb dungeons at 19/29/39, and a few bosses. At 40, you start doing Bounty Hunter dailies with the other classes and learning teamwork.

I'll tell you right now though that leveling a barb early on is boring and soul-crushing compared to the rest of the classes. Easiest to level early on is psychic. Others are inbetween.
