Healing Trance
Range Self
Mana 100
Channel 3.0 second(s)
Cooldown 180.0 second(s)
Weapon Daggers, Unarmed
Requisite Spiritual Cultivation Aware of Vacuity
Control the power of sparks, and set a watery aura around youself.
Costs 20 Mana per second to
increase your Health regeneration rate.
Heals by 6% Health for each second, until your Mana has been
depleted or manually cancelled.
I haven't seen any talk on this forum about Healing Trance, so I made this topic in order to get at least a small chat about it going on for those thinking about getting the skill.
Healing Trance is a constant channel skill, so you cannot do anything while using it. I vaguely recall someone complaining that this factor made Healing Trance useless. However, if you think about it, it would make Assassins pretty much immortal if you could pay 20 mana every second to recover 6% of your life while fighting against mobs. After all, Healing Trance is not "regen", it's a heal, so it's not affected by being in combat status. 6% plus Bloodpaint would pretty much mean that you could just slap on an MP charm or chug on MP pots and never have to worry about dying.
Personally, I decided to get the skill because I figured that it might make Crab Meat just about obsolete. Well, right now, Crab Meat is only an emergency measure for me, which is just what I wanted. I only use the mp food, as when my HP gets low I just channel Healing Trance and get back to full life in less than 20 seconds. It saves me a bucketload of coins because the mp food is dirty cheap.
However, being a constant channel skill, Healing Trance would probably be useless when running fast-paced instances or doing BHs. After all, channel a self-heal on a DD is bound to **** off people.
A quick test revealed that you can channel Healing Trance while in stealth. This might make it useful in PvP, though I wouldn't know as I don't PvP. I'd still imagine that regaining 6% of your life is pretty good if your potions and charm are in cooldown, or if you just wish to not put them in cooldown.
With that said, my opinion is that Healing Trance was 100% worth the 1,770,000 coins that it cost me. Of course, it's going to be a while until the savings I make in crab meat are going to pile up to make that 1,770,000, but once it does, it'll be a profitable investment.
tl;dr:
Healing Trance is worth the coin and spirit
I'd personally like to request opinions from the known names on this subforum. That and pretty much everyone who has the skill.

You can keep on doing what you do with crab meat where as you would have to sit there and air-hump for this skill, so not exactly useful like food if you are in the middle of a fight. Fighting normal mobs shouldn't require any more healing at this level with intervals so where you might have to heal with crab meat is:
Bosses - can use food; can't use this skill. Well you can... but I just don't see me sitting there and not hitting the boss while healing 6% a second.
PvP - using it anything outside of stealth would just be dumb, since you are not going to stop in the middle of a fight and sit there and slowly heal while your target waits. Not exactly a thing to ride through your charm tick. If you are in stealth then just wait through your charm c/d or take a small hp pot.
Frankly, the only usefulness of this skill so far are cube survival room and healing yourself back up after death w/o a charm. In those cases 20 mp for ~300 hp isn't a bad trade off.0 -
What say one had the 15 MP regen to negate stealth's MP drain; one would only use 5 MP per second...or does Healing Trance activate combat mode, initiating the regen reduction?Demon_Troll: "takes on the appearance of an innocent archer but turns into a mindless idiot once you hear him speak"

Healing Trance puts you into combat mode, so the regen gets reduced.
However, you could still use a the 100 mp/s apothecary potions to counter it. Not to mention that if you're low on mana and use a potion while using Healing Trance, you still end up with full mana as the potion gives you more mp/s than Healing Trance uses.I am Olba. All boiling down to...HP food/remedy/pot would be more efficientb:chuckleDemon_Troll: "takes on the appearance of an innocent archer but turns into a mindless idiot once you hear him speak"

While I do agree this skill can be useful, the horrid cooldown kinda takes the shine off it for me. It's not a skill you can rely on, which is somewhat standard with most 79 skills, which is unfortunate.0

Glad I haven't bothered with it then.Demon_Troll: "takes on the appearance of an innocent archer but turns into a mindless idiot once you hear him speak"

I liked using that skill in Cube Stand rooms, real nice.
+ Sometimes used during grinding to save pots if hp went low, which isnt exactly saving considered how much the skill cost...
Otherwise... yeah not very useful.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Useful as stated for
Healing in cube: ( i have lunar daggers so it's actually not beneficial for me per say)
Healing after death : at the cost of 1mp pot
Vampiress in Nirvana: when I have a squad that no one wants to lure in, I tell the cleric to go with the party, I knife throw to lure, run to an edge, and hit the trance. I get healed fully for her hit value and can soak till everyone is back and ready to start.
Tower in Abbaddon
Tidal protect: Wolf Emblem : (in stealth walk to tower) : (full chi) : Triple Spark: Click Inner: Hit Domain/ironguard+mazesteps combo to avoid immobilize: Power Dash : Auto tower: tower dies: force stealth: run if you can or begin healing trance + crab meat to survive poison dot while mobs reset.
After the mobs have reset you can pop out of stealth get chi back and self purify with another triple. For me I use domain then IG during the immune to movement debuff period that comes with domain 2 sec after the immunity.I can see what you see not,
Vision milky, then eyes rot.
When you turn, they will be gone,
Whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be,
Shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind,
Cast down into the Halls of the Blind.0 -
I got it and I regret getting it QQ I've never used it...maybe if the cooldown was shorter...I wouldn't bother until later maybe, unless you have a bunch of spare coin and spirit lying around...0
