You're gonna want to have more than one weapon path, and swords tend to be most peoples 4th choice of weapon paths of the 4 choices...

Anyways, for swords you need 2 str and 1.5 dex per level. So
    (your level - 1) x 2str + 5 = strength you should have
    (your level - 1) x 1.5 dex + 5 = strength you should have

Axes require 3 str and .5 dex per level
Poleaxes require 2.5 str and 1 dex
Fists require 1.5 str and 2 dex

Most people (including me) will recommend 3 str/2 dex per level from levels 1-100 so that you can use all paths.

And the word, is "stat", as in your characters statistics.

Awesome! I've never seen the builds spelled out so straight forward! This should be sticky!

    Necroed big time

    but the answer could be:

adjust stats on odd lvls then, then you do 3 instead of 1.5 ;)

just like the pure mag builds on clerics - mystics and so on - always setting stats on odd lvls, as 0.5 isn't possible to do :)

No need to do .5 stats if you go 3 strength and 2 dex.

1.5 stats would be an average, though. So 3 dex every 2 levels is 1.5 dex average per level. Since the game tends to round up the gear requirements, if you saw a level 31 sword and the game requires 1.5 dex per level to wear swords a level 31 sword would require 31 x 1.5 +5 = 51.5 dex, rounded up to 52 dex. So you would do 2 dex on odd levels (so you can meet the rounded up requirement), and 1 dex on even levels for an average of 1.5 dex.

You need to properly tap, instead of click, your mouse button on the increase arrow. Too hard and it increases by a full point; too little and it does nothing at all. Just takes practice to get it down right.
