okay ive been playing a wizard for about 2 months and ever since the tideborn expansion, people have been comparing psychics and wizards, basically saying one is better than the other. So i want to know now, should i continue playing my wizard or should i just re-roll as a psychic becasue personally by the time i reach end game, i want to have the TT-99 Gold Glavie. I dont want some weird little orb thingy [[***]] so yeah thats pretty much it. Oh yeah what have you guys done in regards to this leave your opinion! :] b:bye

    neither is better than the other. if you want to say they're mages, they're like.. super-defensive mages. aka clerics.

    ultimately people will always compare classes - but in reality it comes down to the player behind the screen - except that yes the tideborn are a little unbalanced compared to the other classes ( i won't say OP as that way brings flames of one side or another). For example in early game unlike wizards or clerics psychics do not have to kite the majority of mobs (even get a knockback skill very early in the game)

    If you feel that being a wizard is not enjoyable for you, then by all means roll another class, however wizzie can be a fun class and still hits like a damn mule even moderately geared

    ^ I think psychics get the knockback skill so soon coz their slowing skill has a 50% chance to slow the enemy at level 10 when clerics and mages one starts with a 65%

    The main difference that people bring up is that psychics tend to have better damage per second while wizards have higher damage per hit. i like wizard more cus my slower more powerful skills never steal aggro :D.... so like basically everyone above said, it comes down to personal preference.

    While I wish that were true, Lenestro, it's not even the case.

    Psychic skills, of comparable spam/nuke are both faster AND generally will hit harder.

    @completely agrees with Shevenel psy deal more damg in all aspects , the only wiz skills which are still highest dph are the 3 ultis , but ther not spammable like SS or DP so QQ , otherwise i believe endgame wizzies for pvp > endgame psy for pvp

    Don't make a caster.

    If it has to be a caster, cleric.

    If it can't be a cleric because you'd rather DD, psychic.

    Mage is an obsolete class in every aspect of this game with the possible exception of sage BIDS. I say possible because unless you can afford to cash shop a decent weapon, you're just going to tickle.

    Every class has a capability to get a knockback skill at level 5.

    I have heard rumors that the china version of this game now has a 3.33 attacks per second cap.

    I have not been able to find any proof of these rumors, using google search, but if they are true things will probably change here, really soon.

    With normal skills or ultis? 2-shot with ultis is nothing incredible, if you waste so many sparks, he can invoke too. Otherwise I call it BS, unless you have warsoul since you can wear it at 8x.

    My main is a 99 mage, and I haven't been two shotted yet by any mage on this char other than a few super cash shoppers who were 101. 10k HP is nice.

    Most people on harshlands are terrible though, so there's that. I generally just TE spam and **** people.


    And yeah, my point still stands. Unless you're gonna dump a ****ton of real cash into this game, your mage will be consistently underpowered compared to other classes at endgame, just by virtue of the fact that the gear you need is really expensive, and you have no way to farm cash.

    To the OP, if you want cop out answers like "all classes are equally balanced" or "it depends on your personal play-style", etc., etc., etc., stop reading now.

    Here's the truth. Psychics on paper are FAR better than wizards.

    Psychics in terms of actually playing them from levels 1 - 90 are pretty equivalent to wizards, quite possibly with a slight edge to the wizard in fact. Wizards are probably better for RB instances.

    But end game, psychics are, for all intents and purposes, significantly better than wizards outside of TW. And inside TW, it is basically a toss-up. They are pretty equal.

    And wizards have cooler-looking skills imo. And we don't creep-out half the population of every server with the way we look, walk, etc.
