I'm going to switch to LA gear by lvl 90.

What shards should I add? Citrine, Garnet or someone mentioned mag attack....

    Do you guys never see LA Wizards in your servers or something? I've seen a lot in HT. Why would you think I have HA?

    I kinda look the other way at people LA from 1-89, but LA at 90+.. you should know better by now.

    Okay. I appreciate your opinion.
    I still have seven levels to completely make my mind up, but as of right now this is what I am leaning towards.

    What are your reasons for being against it?

    Do you have any positives?

    What do you have?

    It's possible to convince me to stay. I just need more feedback of the logical kind. Not too many wizards to speak to one-on-one unfortunately. So, any information is helpful, but keep in mind of my level so I won't know ALL the 100+ acronyms used for things. b:laugh

    You can refine protection ornaments for extra pdef. With stone barrier you can bring your pdef near your mdef with some modest gear as an AA. Which means high, since your magic defense is high as an arcane.

    As a LA, your mag def will suck, your pdef won't be much better either. Only solution I see is to use elemental ornaments and refine them, but I doubt the extra crit is valuable compared to the mag attack you lose.

    Basically.. wearing LA means you trade your magic points for str and dex. At level 100, you are sacrificing ~150 stat points, or 30% of your overall points for an extra 4-5% crit. The survivability between arcane and LA is so close its not even worth mentioning.. and if that is what you are really worried about you can throw in some extra vit for a vit arcane build (higher survivability than LA if you do it right). Why exactly were u planning on going LA?

    I made up two really quite basic level 90 (With TT 90 and easily aquirable ornaments, refines and shards)*

    Breakdown

    HP
    LA 3737
    AA 3704

    Pdef
    LA 5561
    AA 3621

    Mres

    Crit
    LA 8%
    AA 4%

    (Thats without a second ring)


    Arcane has lower pdef, but even with swapping out 4 citrines for 4 garnets, it still has more hp (Due to cape) Take that away, -180hp is still more than the LA build.

    Arcane Pros:
    Very similar hp
    Higher Matk
    Higher mres
    More mana (less mp cost = money towards refines)

    Cons
    Lower pdef (can be brought up with refines)
    Less crit (can be improved with a second teacher ring.




    *Perhaps the Arcane cape is a bit far fetched, but can be surely found with similar stats.. Even Vit+hp.

    LA is okay for 9x, especially when you can't refine a whole lot... but overall I think AA is better.

    You shouldn't be anything but AA at end game though, with all of the +pdef and crit addons from gear (lunar rings give 500 pdef and 6% crit alone) and stone barrier your pdef should be just fine.

    Have a LA wiz in guild who does fine but has Nirvana gear +10-12 I think. It is said that the disadvantages of LA outweigh its advatages but it may be challenging to play LA wiz. Personally I prefer pure mag for my wiz.
