here's my current eq:

http://pwcalc.ru/pwi/?char=ca07be64c8c4447d

I've had a lot of it for quite a while.

I'm thinking about Sakra-devanam-Lundra for new weapon and replacing my prot necklace with Divine Wind Necklace.

Otherwise, i'm a little unsure of what to start looking at next. some of the stuff feels pretty outdated (like the boots). Any tips on must-have eq through the 80's?

dont know if it matters but plan on restatting at 90 to pure int.

anyway, thank you for your time and advice.

your equips are fine for 8x. Get an 8x weapon.. I'd strongly recommend against the Sakra as it auto binds and you won't be able to recoup any of your investment when you hit 9x. Instead of buying 8x gear, buy hypers and frost your way to 9x/10x. When I was leveling my cleric, I averaged a level a day from 8x on, (took me less than 3 weeks to hit 100).. so it wouldn't really make much sense to invest on gear you'll only be using for a week or less.

Yeah for the most people, I dont get it too, I really enjoy my way TO 100, with the grinding on different monsters, exporing new area's, maximizing your skills and trying out different instances. For other people it's just, hyper to 100, get fantastic gear and be able to pk with other people as they are also 100 with fantastic gear. Gues the main factor is pking to get to 100, and as I dont do that, I just enjoy all the lower levels!

The point of getting to 100 is you can make money faster once you're there. If nothing else, picking up the nirvana keys for the 99 key quest is worth it. It's hard to use your keys as a wizard because nobody really wants you for nirvana, but I'm sure you could have a few friends help with the 99 key quest (if done in double drops you get 4 raps and 10 uncanny.. and you can do it like every month). There is also BH 100 which gives rewards other than exp/sp, which also helps you make money.

Not only that, but getting to 99 means you are at least able to learn the sage/demon ultis, which helps in basically the only little niche wizards still have (magic aoe spike damage).

I'm curious, why have you invested 80 dex; is it for the crit? At lvl 80 I have almost 1.5 times your Mattack; don't you want more power?

ah... thx for the heads up about sakra auto-binding... prolly go with yaksa then.

I spend most of my time either rpk or afk... and i'm not even very vigilant about doing the dailies, and like some other people mentioned, i dont mind taking it slow. I like the LA, none of the magic classes ever give me any trouble cept the occasional veno that knows what they're doing... and i really enjoy the phys def against archers & sins both of which give me trouble.

So, it sounds like i shouldn't sweat any particular 8x gear and perhaps just start planning ahead for the 9x sets?
