Hey all,

sorry to disturb you all with this but i dont get why i cant read the new announcements when i press on the 'read more' button. I get next page, see the pic and below he pic i only see a banner of PWI in grey with their trademark on it. Any ideas why i cant scroll down to read text?
Thx

Stop using Internet Explorer. That solved it for me. Switched to Mozilla FireFox and worked fine. Anyways IE is evil.

This site is designed for IE. It's half-broken for many Firefox users.

Core Connect does not work here for me. The CSS doesn't fully render... it's like viewing the page without style sheet information.

The blog also sometimes has trouble rendering the CSS as well. Try refreshing.

Maybe its an issue of updating IE. Ive been using IE7 still so that might have been my problem. Just know what fixed my issue.

I quit using IE a long time ago. I use Google Chrome now. Haven't had any issue and sites load twice as fast as IE or Firefox.

In short, stop using IE. It fails. Terribly.

Never had an issue with Chrome so far. But don't forget that it's build on Firefox ;) Anyway, it's better than Firefox too lol

how about being more customer friendly and having it work for everyone? rather than telling people they have to use this or that to view it. idk just doesnt make good business sense to tell customers they have to change what they are currently using when it has always worked for me until the last few updates.

but np. i just wont view the updates and wont spend money on w/e sales are current. excellent job breaking your own advertising tool.

@Annastasia, I`m sure that Frankie is already working on this, no need to be so negative, plus I didn't mean to make anyone feel disregarded, my apologies.
Anyway, feeling guilty I decided to make a little test, since my RL job is beta-testing I have almost all kinds of browser installed on this PC. Here are the results:

Internet Explorer 8 : Everything working fine.
Internet Explorer 9 : Everything working fine.
Mozilla Firefox 3 : Everything working fine.
Safari 5 : Everything working fine.
Google Chrome 7 : Everything working fine.

I don't have IE7 but I`m sure that some of the members are using it and they will share their experience. Meanwhile Edyn, could you please give us some more info like what browser are you using, what OS etc. ?

Can one of you guys post a screen shot of the issue you're seeing?

Also, please mention which browser was being used when you took the screen shot.

As you see, beneath the first line of the description, the page ends with the banner. Thats all you get.

As stated, I had gotten it only with IE7. Works fine with other browzers.

I dunno about the OP though.

News Page will display correctly after a refresh. Core Connect almost never displays properly.

    Latest build of Firefox.

That's not the site, that's your browser. Set your password and let Firefox remember it, also don't clear out your cookies.

I already have a ticket open on this issue (15049-128454) since 21-Oct-2010... Apparently it's a CSS frame issue that affects IE7 since the tech agent tested with IE8 which works fine. The HTML error is only encoutnered when coming in through PWI... I have come into the same news articles through FW, JD, and BoI and those all work fine in IE7, but PWI is hosed up--no scroll bar.

As a workaround for those having issues...

    1) Go to front page for PWI and hover the mouse over the news article you want to read, then write down the 6 digits at the end (e.g., PWI - Perfect World: Genesis is article 140131).

    2) Go to front page for FW, JD, or BoI

    3) Click any news article and your Browser URL should look like this (for example if you went to FW):
    http://fw.perfectworld.com/news/?p=141121

    4) Change the last 6 digits in the address window to the 6 digits you wrote down and voila, you can read the PWI news article with a scrollbar.

Still hoping they fix this rather than say "It's your problem, you should upgrade to IE8."

Cool, thanks for submitting the ticket and explaining the workaround; we'll definitely see if we can come up with a better solution than forcing everyone to upgrade their browsers. b:thanks
