Screenshots aren't saved

I just noticed that my screenshots aren't saved any more.
It tells me 'Screenshot saved' but when I go into the screenshot folder there are only the ones I took yesterday, none from today.
are there any other folders where nowadays they are saved in besides:
C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\screenshots ? cause that's where they are not..

so I can't even take proper screenshots with time stamp for the spam problem I have..

Check that UAC (Vista/7), or your antivirus/security software is letting the game folder be written to.

The PRNT SCRN key is still working, right?

Try using the program FRAPS and see if that works until you get it figured out.

The current game client installs the game to C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International You might want to download and install the current game client, maybe that will work better for you.

Make sure you copy over your screenshots that you do have before you uninstall the current one.

yesterday's screenshots are in the folder as mentioned in my first post, ergo, it did work before.
no changes made to computer firewall or anything else.
latest game client is installed.

ps: the computer is a week old and so is the game installation, so look for something else than the computer being at fault please..

i did encounter the same issue on my old vista laptop and now i have the same here on the win7 desktop. the problem is as randomly as your support team is capable of solving issues..

There's nothing (I hope) to worry about. The game is simply not running as Administrator. This usually happens to me when I reinstall windows as I just pin elementclient.exe to the taskbar to launch the game asap since I take care of all patches manually.

You take some screenshots, go check your folder, and BAM! Your new screenshots aren't there. However, if you're running Windows 7 (dunno if vista does this too), you might (or not) notice a new button called "Compatibility Files". -Example- Click that, and viola! The screenshots appear!

You have 3 choices. Either you:

1) Do that.

2) Start the game as admin,

3) Move the game folder to a place that doesn't require admin privileges.

And with that, I end this with a sparrow-like: *chirp chirp*.

according to your logic, yesterday i spontaneously decided to run the game in admin mode, take screenshots, and today i decided to just run it as normal, try taking screenshots and then complain about it..

ain't there anyone who finds it just a little bit odd that i mention that yesterday the screenshots are saved, and today they are not?

no? did the iq seriously drop that low the past few years?

i supposed i do too much thinking in my job as tech support and possibly should adjust to the lower standards otherwise i'd work too much..

And there are far more many ways to take screenshots, you do know PrntScrn saves a copy of the screen to the clipboard to right? And you could always use something like WiindowClippings to autosave them to a nice and nifty high quality png so b:bye

Excuse me Sanshiru, i see it as nescessary to start writing with a serious warning becouse you write you are tech-support yourself. I hope If you can read through the heavy stuff and see i have advise for you to review in case you are an honoust person forgetting his tone of voice.

If there are any ppl reading who are all to familiar with the kind of words written by Sanshiru in this thread, when looking for this or that going on on their computer(s), you might want to let your computer checked by some1 who has no contact with your current admin.

This thread seems (not saying it is) like the thread of an agitator, a kind of "secret agent" who's job is to arouse ppl, feed them lies, make them fight ghosts (a forum-nick) or each other in stead of a real enemy.
Such is not done by regular bussiness-compettitors. Rebels and/or criminals do. I have both spamming my Grimmpillage-attached email, (resp. from my psychiatrist - ngo - and my own stupidities, be assured this spam is not via or from PWI or any of PWE-divisions in any way). (Now here's a non-standard answer to check Sanshiru, see last DD).

Such messages on honoust forums, where some1 who writes to "be tech-support somewhere else" somewhere between insults, can be mis-used by infected search-results to steer ppl like me further in the wrong direction. Every littlebit helps in the psych-war. Even if Sanshiru is an OK guy not realizing his words, this message might in 2020 still be used to up the odds of landing on discontent messages and must contain this warning so it won't be mis-used.

I am mad at you Sanshiru. Becouse of the way and moment etc. you claim to be tech-support. Trying to come clean last year from (wrong meds and) illegal software such tone from mods and techsupports - even on their own forums - nearly took me back there. Now if you are honoust tech support you realy would not want that would you?

What i write here above is my experience from internet since Windows '98 (legal offline from 1990, illegal on & offline fr '98, legal since may 2010 (wanted to know the malware i helped spreading all those years, otherwise more or less legal since 2006).

About the missing screenshots i have just a few more words


Here is another non-standard answer to check.
As posted under Skimming of coin fr arrow-sales - fr Falcon Feather Arrows, Lead Shot and Leather Bullets - i had 1 day of missing ss's. I have absolutely no clue of what coused what, neither do i have any hint it'ld be related to the skimming of coins other then that i noticed becouse for the skimming i used extra copies in Windows Paint.



As tech-support Sanshiru would know biggest part of finding answers can be first finding the right question. Dificult on a forum with a lot of kids, nobody's intelligence should be questioned here.

The initial question "are there any other folders where nowadays they are saved in besides:
C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\screenshots ?" has been answered negative.
Therefore it does not seem to be the right question.

If Sanshiru would've mentioned he/she is prof tech-support in the starting post then ppl would've been able to realize standard answers would not suffice.
It is only after helpfull ppl pose some info & answers and some needed counter-questions Shansiru gives sparse info. Point is she/he gave it in 3rd post as a sneer, not as info.

"Thank you" Sanshiru for this thread. It cirkled around in my mind all day and made me realize i should take the medication from my family-doctor. You see, i get mad @ my administrative help for aside fr her own job she does all the work that parrents & psychiatrists refuse to do (+ in case of therapists : should do if psychiatrists would). Killing PWI-and Bioshock-monsters is not enough to releave the stresses. I shout @ my administrative help as i can not shout @ parents & psychiatrists, i'ld be jailed in no-time.

My behaviour looks agressive but is in fact less agressive then your words here. I shout out loud, do not intentionaly insult, never make any kind of threat. Nevertheless it hinders reasonable functioning just like your insults do.
You and i direct anger to the ppl who help instead of using that energie (bio-chemicals) to track down the root of problems. I have to take new meds. As tech-support you should be a Hunter. In your profession with your missing screenshots i'ld say you can put these ancient bio-chems to their intended use.

Again Sanshiru, i hope you do not have to take this very personaly. My question here is : "Are you legit?"
Your behaviour - even if you are honoust yet ignorant - as displayed here can be mis-used by wrong-doers who will amplify for me as a dubious user and lure me to malware and illegal downloads. My own behavour is normaly mis-used to give me blame for anything else that happens. See why i am mad at you, it takes me down twice and you go free. Thus i "shout" @ you and myself here.


I sugest you (after apologising to PWI staff and players alike) "reboot" this thread and give us an example of how you'ld like to handle a question like this if it'ld come up on the support where you work.

Though my RL-problems originate from blindly protecting seemingly honoust above-average-responsable ppl, 1 of 1st rules must remain to be able to support your colleagues, within DD-limits (see last DD).
