File Modification Question

Okay, so I recently decided to stop playing mage for a bit because, it is getting highly expensive. So I decided to get a Venomancer up since they are cheaper(Super cheap since I won't even be buying werefox skills, except werefox form because, I hate being in werefox form and will only use it for defensive emergencies) and they can farm to earn cash(which will be helpful to get gear and money to support my Wizard).

I heard about modifying files and I was wondering if there was anyway to change the battle stance of a Venomancer to either that of a Wizard or Cleric(Venomancer battle stance is highly unappealing to me) by modifying it, with it not being against the TOS. I mainly just want it for me to look at, doesn't matter how it will appear to others, I just want it to appear the way I want on my screen if I can. Some threads say it's legal if you do it the right way but, I don't even know exactly how to modify files, so can anyone help me out here?

Any kind of modification of game files is a violation of the ToS, and therefore bannable. Sorry about that.

up to you, but i'd advise you to get (at a minimum) amp damage as well as fox form. that'll help on long-lived mobs; basically, anything that lives long enough for amp damage to expire, you'll kill quicker if you amp it.

granted, that may not be very many of the mobs you'll be farming, true. but you'll run into some such things occasionally, and you might want to kill 'em faster. killing fast is what farming's all about, no?

there may be a way to do what you want through modifying the game files, although i wouldn't be at all sure of it myself. if it can be done, however, it is most certainly against the TOS.

technically, ANY modifying the game files (without going through the game client itself to do it) violates the TOS. you can get away with modifications that you could technically get through the game client without needing to edit the files directly --- that is, modifications that only save you inconvenience and nobody else can tell are modifications --- but in the strictest sense, even those violate the TOS and you only get away with them because nobody can tell the difference.

well, if you're going to go hacking game files and possibly get yourself banned... make a backup copy of your entire game directory first. then look around in there, see what's in there and try to make sense of it. if you just plain can't make sense of a file, leave it alone; you'd just mess the program up. if a file DOES seem to make sense to you --- leave it alone anyway, because changing it would violate the TOS and risk getting you banned, if you know what i mean.

basically, don't mess with anything you neither understand nor can figure out by reading it and making educated guesses. then if you do mess with something, understand that you HAVE broken the rules and the responsibility is entirely yours.

and lastly, i honestly don't think you can do what you want to do through any halfway feasible hacking of the game files. player model animations and stances are likely buried deep in files that are not human-readable, but are coded in some proprietary binary format which likely isn't modifiable without custom tools which i'd guess only exist inside of PWE, Inc.
