Is earning free zen worth the trouble?

Ive had some problems with free zen and there is a thread i made in cash shop discussion that you can reply to. However in this i would like to just take a simple survey. Do you think that using the earn zen is worth it or should you just buy the zen with real money? Please say why on the thread.

Most of the offers for ''free'' zen require you to buy something you usually don't want anyway.

The surveys for zen are worth it I guess if you got nothing better to do, but they rarely give out the zen you deserve apparently.

All in all, just buying it normally probably saves a lot of trouble.

You can easily rack up spam mail from the free offers. The ones that are easiest are Survey of the Day. It takes a bit to get used to the questions and the outcome is only a few gold. Convenience-wise, it's definitely easier to buy zen. If you're dead set on getting free zen, you can try the offers, but beware of the spam mail and hassle.

Basically this. I've played numerous F2P games that allow you to get cash currency or other rewards by doing this sort of thing, and in my opinion the rewards are just too small for the hassle it puts you through.

That's not to say, for instance, that you shouldn't LOOK at the offers and, if you are planning to purchase something that's on the list anyway (i.e. a DirectTV, NetFlix, or credit monitoring subscription) and feel free to use these offers to get a bit more for your money.

    Nothing is free EVER.

Now I wrote the "ever" in caps as nothing is free.
Sure you get Zen if you go through the hassle but you loose out on other things.
    Like you personal live.

    Why is that?
Some free zen offers ask you questions about your live style. This info is very very very very welcome to advertisers and their ilk.

If they know what you want they will spam you with it much as they can. In the end you get what they trow at you even if you don't need it.

I don't like to be manipulated (or at least I still think I am somewhat free of that consumer rubbish).

But he.... you want to loose you freedom of making up your own mind by offering your privacy and preferences, be my guest.
I speak for myself. My opinions are my own.
Assuming I speak for others is therefor void.

Someone actually puts their real info there? I thought everyone just says they are 85-year old WW1 (lol) veterans with four hybrid cars and extensive ballet experience.

Yes I know when WW1 was.

I'm of the opinion (I've not actually tried to get any myself) that the free zen offers are not worth the trouble. When this first came out, I looked through to see who was offering what reward for this process and didn't like anything that I saw.

Some people have received some free zen but it doesn't seem to be a reliable means of obtaining it. The many complaints about unreliability and not receiving the promised rewards are testament to that. It is not a unique situation to PW, other sources offer greater proof of the problems that exist with the vehicle that provides these offers.

My advice for anyone that wants to give the free zen offers a go, you should start by creating a disposable email for (likely?) spam purposes. After that, do what has basically been said by a few others, feed them a load of baloney and back out if they want to know too much, ie: credit cards etc.

I looked at a good portion of the free zen offers, and I consider them a horrible idea.

The reason behind it is most of them require personally identifiable information that they turn around and sell to 3rd parties. If I was gonna have my info sold I'd rather do the selling, at my own price, than giving it away to someone else and every single other entity they share that info with for free virtual currency. At very least it would justify the utter hassle one gets put through in sharing that kind of (and much) info.

Eh, I use the Free Zen offers if I want teles, since they're only 10 silver and I rarely end up with more than 1g at a time with free zen.

I'm not a heavy cashshopper but just go buy the Zen to get a charm; would take more than I have patience for to get that much free zen b:surrender

You have to call corporate Offerpal. I had two offers that I paid for and never got credit... called them. sent email with screenshots and got the payout.

    Just takes effort lol

Nothing in life is free. If you aren't spending money... you're either paying in time, information, etc. The "Free" Zen offers generally charge you for a different serve anyhow.
