So many posters are just flat rude, with no intention of helping in any way-they only want post insults.

There are so many who just camp on these forums for hours, merely to grab any chance to try to show how intellectually "superior" they are. The very ones who complain about grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. make the same mistakes themselves. When a post is made where an opinion is stated or asked for, the sheer number of people who pounce and tear it apart is unreal. An opinion is just that, an opinion.

Are your lives so very unhappy that you cannot extend even an ounce of decency to a fellow gamer? If so, that's really sad. You reap what you sow/karma/whatever you want to call it. Would your liver explode if you were ... omg... nice to someone?

The recent mass exodus of the "forum experts", the ones that pulled the old "I'll show them, I'm taking my toys and going home"" ploy did not see what I guess they thought would happen; the forums did not fold up and die. But it seems many stepped up their efforts to mock, ridicule, and belittle people. (or some of the ones who left in a huff merely created more accounts to continue their abuse, which is a higher probability).

I guess I post this thinking it will somehow sink in and the forums will become a more peaceful resource of information. Silly me.

Now I have fed all the forum monsters. Feast away, but as you do, I wish you happiness in life so that you don't always have to be that way.

I agree with the OP that lately, moreso then ever, the Forums have been a place of ridicule for players asking questions. I can't help but think it keeps those who do need help from asking for it when they see others getting no more then a quick worded smart alec answer, encouraged on by their friends to post meaningless dribble til it's finally sent to the Depths.

"General Discussion" should allow everyone to speak about their ideas and not be limited to a few who wish to say only that the "Forums are Dead, PW is Dead, Mods Stink", etc.

These boards are not monitored for such things, no one ever banned for offering nothing more then a sharp and what they think is clever quip to another players query because it's not overtly against the rules. We players who have been here though can see the harm it does when a group hijacks the boards and no one else is free to use it without fearing ridicule. We can't know for sure how many potential players are turned off by those threads.

Therefore all I can suggest to help is for us to monitor them ourselves so that players who do care about helping others will take the time to post their replies. Maybe with the boards finally being somewhat calmed down now we can get a new set of players who will lead the Forum in a more positive and helpful manner.

Yes it will. I have severe allergic reactions to being nice to the point where if I were to indulge in such a vile act, it would cause all of my organic internal organs to simultaneously detonate.

there are still helpful people about but it is hard sometimes not to be sarcastic when you see the same question hundreds of times. i succumb myself sometimes. If folks want to avoid trolls they need to learn to use the search function for themselves BEFORE asking their question but that would involve spending a little time and having a little patience which is also it seems in short supply here on the forum and in the game.

This is just one poorly handled forum. Bad things are happening if you don't keep on reporting them. It's hard to fight these trolls when there's so many of them.

Posters like these, you will never get through to, because they actually thrive off the attention. They post comments like the above, then sit at their computer desperately hoping someone will quote them. If they actually make someone annoyed, they feel superior for affecting someone. And if someone "lols" or agrees with them, they pop a massive e-boner and feel all special and included. I've probably just make them all delighted by posting this.

Sadly, the above posters all believe they're being "cool" or funny and believe everyone thinks they're awesome. It's kinda like that one clown you get in every class at school who everybody laughs at, not with, and completely forgets about once they graduate.

Best thing you can do is take it in your stride and ignore it. If a thread annoys you or someone is rude, hit the back button and open a different page. Nearly all forums are the same, more or less. Not worth getting stressed over tbh.

That's pretty much spot on. The rude, insulting people just do it for the attention. The only way to thwart them is to ignore them. As the saying goes, never wrestle with a pig. You'll both get dirty, but only the pig will enjoy it.

yeah i dont see why ppl hve to turn every opnion into a debate. like theres always a thread asking a question or whatever so i like read the first page and then post my response. i dont even go to the last page to see other responses but then later on i see ppl quoting me and trying to argue with me ha im not gonna give them the satisfaction of arguing with them.

I see helpful people all the time. Not as much on the forums but in the game. I guess the truly helpful people are too busy actually playing the game and helping people rather than troll the forums. It does get interesting on here though. Although I agree that most of the senseless hate towards the game, mods and devs needs to stop. Because the game isn't dead. Alot of people may have left but there are always others coming to the game to replace them. Our faction gets brand new players all the time, and we all enjoy helping them to understand things better.

There will always be haters though. That part is understandable and easily shrugged off by those of us who refuse to let it bother us. Anything from specific class hatred, to paying players who feel that they own the game compared to non-paying players. Nobody owns the game though. You choose to pay to support it the same way you support your favorite clothing line from the mall. The only superior people on the forums are those who own the forums and last time I checked...that was pwe. What ever happened to the term "defamation of character"?. If that isn't in the ToS then it should be. Because that would rid the game/forums from alot of unnecessary garbage.
