The parallel here that doesn't fit is that the Admin here acknowledged that they are understaffed and are looking into increasing the moderation staff as well as apologizing for making mistakes and reducing the bans of the first few that were banned.

So, all in all, the outrage that I did not completely condone, nor was I a primary player of actually did do something that will end up changing the forum to be a better place.

Why would i have to look something up that i'm actually old enough to remember happening? It's actually you who should look it up before you start making idiotic comparisons. I stood up to speak for reason which if you knew anything about what happened in CU you would realize was not a very common thing. Who knows? Perhaps i prevented at least one mother from wondering where her missing son/daughter was if i managed to actually convince someone... And i wasn't getting into a lot of fights, just one in which i prevented this jerk from turning a large gathering of students (it was meant to be traditional fiesta) into a political rally. I think i've made more posts acknowledging mistakes and apologizing than any other poster on this forums. You questioned my knowing anything about this matters, i merely responded.

Not supposed to comment on bans etc, but all Fuzzy hasta say is that the General Discussion section of the forum had/has become so bad most of the time me not even bother to look at it and just stick to me server sub-board.

Many people who are now gone were some of the loudest people ranting about problems within the game, and these same people also said they rarely, if at all, even logged in anymore.

If thats is the case (Fuzzy could be slightly off the mark, like me say General became not even worth reading) me can only see it as a good thing.

Maybe now the topics will actually return to some semblance of intelligence where people can actually come to discuss the game or *gasp* even look for help instead of simply wading through piles and piles of the same threads with the same complaints posted by the same people.

I've been off the forums on Friday due to RL stuff (taking care of someone that had surgery), and from what I'm reading, it's a good thing.

All I have to say about the flames here is this: C'mon guys, enough is enough.

I won't pretend to know all that happened on here over the weekend, but I will say this: If things really have calmed down, the posts even after frankie's public apology sure don't reflect it.

The people are comparing what happened with RL riots. On a virtual level, that's probably true, so what I have to say next should be seen in this light.

Yes, trust has been wrecked. Yes, there are folks that were and are legitmately angry. No, nothing's going to be quite the same way again. Yes, it's going to take time and a lot of hard work to make things right, but it's also going to take something else, too.

There's something that I follow, in game and in RL: Trust is a two-way street and a double-edged sword at the same time. If we're ever going to get all the way out of this Mexican Standoff we're in right now, someone needs to take the first step and the other side needs to have enough hope to try to give things a second chance.

Frankie's taken the first step by answering questions and giving a very public apology. Who has the hope and maturity to start over and give trust another try?

I defended my words and actions against your allegations. If that isn't standing up for it I don't know what is. I may be troll but I'm not unreasonable. Take Nelae for example: I was flaming against her just yesterday and today we are civil. It's you who keep taking your personal boohoo around with you.

No I feel no shame and I explained why. I trolled no more nor no less than I would have in any other circumstance. I did not start a billion topics for the sake of spam, I did not go ape-mad with cussing. In fact I think the only thing I did out of ordinary was contribute a good 40 or 50 posts to the "the unmentionable" thread (count approximated from the number of posts I lost when thread was deleted).

I think things through before I post and for that reason I rarely feel the need to apologize. The FEW apologies I've ever given, almost all of them were via PMs. The difference between you and me though is even though we both don't apologize, I don't go around PROCLAIMING that I apologized the most out of anyone, whereas you go around telling anyone who happened to cross the thread that you are the most remorseful troll on the forum.
