seems that many people dont understand how defense works, so i decided to add new values to this Calc
Total Physical Damage Reduction and Total Magic Damage Reduction will show how much base damage will be reduced by every stat that affect it i.e. p.def. p.dmg reduce, def lvls, attack lvls, lvl difference or even blue ball.
important fact is that all those values are multipliers in damage equation - which means that their order doesnt matter.

btw confirmed this calc's accuracy for melee dmg in pve and pve, against enemy on same level (less than 0.5% error)

Is your evasion formula right? I know you just have that for pve and not pvp, but I was still curious.
(In other words, does the defender always have level 25 for the purposes of evasion where the attacker always has their own level?)0 -
it is not my formula. it is asterelle's (i believe)
and it works for pve and pvp
it should be accurate, but it is not confirmed.

The evasion formula someone posted randomly in the archer forums a while ago but I don't know anyone who has verified it. The original form that was posted was:
evasiveness = 1000*evasion / accuracy
evasion% = evasiveness / (40* level + evasiveness)
I combined those two into:
evasion% = 25* evasion / (level*accuracy + 25*evasion)
While it hasn't been verified or tested it does have the feature of becoming less viable at higher levels which most people agree is true.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

btw i added new paragraph: 'Defense mechanics'.
I think it is more.. smart now. Correct me if there is something wrongHP gems (citrine or vit) and refining gives fixed amount of HP (i.e. one flawless citrine +40hp). More HP you have - less will your survivability gain from another shard or refine i.e. 40hp added to 1000HP increases it by 4%, but added to 4000HP - just by 1%.
Physical and magic defense act in similar way: defense increase DEF-E by fixed amount (however, level of attacker is important here) i.e. you will always again +0,25 DEF-E from every +1000 magic or physical def. points, if attacker is 100lvl (higher level means smaller gain).
Just like in HP case: more defense you have - less will your survivability gain from another p.def or m.def added.
Defense levels work in same way, but level of attacker doesnt matter i.e. +0.24 DEF-E from 20 def. levels above enemy attack level.
There are two separate equations; one when your def. lvl > enemy attack lvl, and second - when your def. lvl < enemy attack lvl. Firstly, equation substract attack levels from defense levels, then remaining defense levels give damage reduction.
This also means that more defense levels you have - smaller survivability gain will be.
Keep in mind that damage formula is bunch of multipliers, so defense, defense levels and bonus damage reduction (and also HP for final EHP result) will affect each other. Alone, from 1000 m.def you would get +0.25 DEF-E, from 20 def.levels +0.24 DEF-E, but together - they will give +0.55 DEF-E.
EHP and DEF-E equations will help you to find out which type of stat (hp, def or def levels - or mix) will be most 'profitable' to build up. I have just noticed that there is a small mistake on line 115:
"i.e. two builds one with 2000 EHPaPD and 10000 EHPaMD, and second - 3000 EHPaPD, 4000 EHaMD will have same General EHP = 6000."
I think it should say something like:
"i.e. two builds one with 2000 EHPaPD and 10000 EHPaMD, and second - 3000 EHPaPD, 9000 EHaMD will have same General EHP = 6000."
