I have to say, it was pretty epic from a spectators standpoint.
A majority of the forum users (not only playerbase mods/gms aswell) turned themselves into fools. b:surrender

i smell flame bait. Although eventually the smell is indistinguishable from mod bait.

    Maybe if today was yesterday.

But in all seriousness this wasn't meant to be "pointless". i was just reading some of the key threads, and they were pretty juicy. I doubt i was the only one running about the forums yesterday trying to figure out what was going on. Thought i would bring it up, for those of us who were watching the flames burn. Watching our fellow forum goers tear apart the incompetent mods. It's like something out of a book.

Want my opinion? Short and simple?

The community is at the point where they're SO hateful, they'll hate on anything the mods do. ****ing anything. The mods could've been all new people and people would've found a way to criticize the new people, saying it's stupid and careless of the GMs to not magically know what kind of mods we want. This makes people like me wanna respond with "dude just shut the hell up," but of course the moment anyone says something like that, the community cries "OMG HE'S TRYING TO SILENCE ME!! COMMUNISM!!" No I'm saying it cause your complaint sucks BALLS. Read through the forums; the majority of all complaints are simply dramatic rhetoric with no actual SUGGESTIONS or CRITICISMS. That's cause the people typing up said rhetoric are so wrapped up in the drama that they're just participating and not thinking.

Wellllllllll like 99% of it was not moved to the depths, the new mods obviously dont know how to move things down there so they just hit the delete button instead so all that work is just poof

I agree with some of your points (the ones i highlighted). One part that made me sick were the people PURPOSELY trying to get banned (BeingHope, Wraithtank ect.). Instead of making things better for the community they stirred up even more of a mess. Funny when i saw that beinghope was banned i was shocked then when i saw some of her posts i couldn't have thought of a better punishment.
But basically people made trolls into leaders, these trolls usually have something bad to say to the GMs and mods. Once they were banned (seriously it wasn't a surprise) everyone reacted just like you described.

WIth that said, I did notice an access of locked forums (Possibly because i didn't get a chance to get to the flame part of them), and there could have been some better choices when it comes to mods.

    Mind if I ask which?

It's just that, as I've said, I've read through the forums and I dunno how many empty statements I've seen like that. There's way too many people running around with statements like that, but then when asked "what could've been better," they suddenly disappear. I'd love to hear more objective discussions about what people want and what they didn't like.

Someone with forum modding experience since these forums are far from easy going.
I guess i wouldn't have some exact names other than the usual poster named after a flower. But i feel as though these mods are pretty new at this. (in fact i know shelly is a new mod as i have been lurking the fw forums and grim was just a normal poster before this who i hardly saw contribute any help to the community )
It took quite a few hours for nightmaresx thread to get locked. The first post even had a big F*** YOU in it. Think it went up to 9x post before i went to sleep this morning. Although i do understand that it must be extremely difficult to find a loyal good experienced mod, i just dont think they (grim at least) are ready for a forum of this caliber (for lack of a better word).

As a counter argument to myself, this does seem to always happen whenever we get a new mod. This is indeed a whole new level of this "initiation", but it does happen whenever we get a new staff member. This could quite possibly just blow over and they could end up being the mods we needed on this forum.

Rampant spammer, ok. Have your opinion.

Someone who plays this game....personally I've modded before, and the damn job made me wanna stop playing the game. It killed the fun for me and made me wanna go inactive on both the forums and game. Logging in wasn't fun anymore, but rather an opportunity to do a damn job. In that case, I think someone who doesn't play could be good.

Someone who hasn't already failed at being a mod....that person was given a second chance, people complained, that person is gone. And?

People are complaining because the GMs dared to even consider that someone deserves a second chance and because the new mods don't match a person's idea of a good mod. The person that was given a second chance has been withdrawn and there's no way in hell EVERYONE will agree with every mod choice. So what the hell are we complaining about?

As for frankie's dishonesty, had the new mod been reintroduced as the same old one, people would've shot it down immediately. I'm SURE that's why frankie did what frankie did. If frankie had re-picked an old mod out of, say....laziness? Sure, THEN you can complain. All frankie was trying to do was give someone a chance to start again on another foot and people are shouting "communism" and "scandal" and wtf.

If you have to hide something, chances are you probably shouldn't be doing it. I'm all for giving him another chance, but frankie single-handedly ruined Konari's chance by doing that.

"Mom, I got your car washed at the local carwash place!"

"You didn't even ask to drive the car."

"Yeah because I knew if I asked, you might've said no."

"You may be right, but that's no excuse."

"But look! The end result was good! You got your car washed!"

"You were still dishonest. You're grounded."

Well I mean seriously. Everyone has to start out new sometime.

Picture a Burger King with a new guy at the fast-food window. Will it tick us off that service is slow and he forgets stuff? Heck yeah it will. Then why do we bother with this new guy? Cause old workers leave and/or the demand of the customers increases and requires more workers.

It's absolutely bi-polar of the community to demand fresh faces, and then to instantly shoot them down when they're not 100% fully experienced. That comes with time and we should be patient about it.

And as for these forums and being ready for them, I don't think anyone is. b:surrender $50 says frankie will resign because of this BS.

Well, he sure didn't help his chances any.

Regardless, now we lost more trust to frankie. And by we, I mean others that still had trust for anyone working for this game.

FFS I have to say this again.

Many of the people complaining about the new moderators are not part of the same group of people complaining about the management of this forum, as such. Similarly, a good number of these people have no ****ing clue what started this.

My fight is not with moderators. My fight is with Frankie.

My complaints may involve the moderators, but this does not mean it is them personally that I am directing my concerns to nor about. I have said it time, and time, and time, and time again. I am not judging the moderators by anything except what they do.

Did I approve of Grim being a moderator? No, he was a forum spammer before that and had nothing useful to provide to the community.
Did I condemn him right off the get go and want him gone? No.
Did I start having a problem with him when he proved he was a little trigger happy when it came to locking threads that didn't need to be? Yes. Did I start having problems with him when he paraded around a signature about how people should not spam forums? Most definitely, knowing his history.

Did I thank him when he removed that signature, after I expressed why I was angry at him wearing it? Yes, I did.

I do not speak for everybody. I speak for myself, and a couple of others.

It is not the moderators we have problems with. It is the management of these forums.

Not the moderators themselves. Not the changes to TW or TT or Nirvana themselves. But their management on the forums and the communication related to them.

    There is a difference.

This analogy kind of remind me of my own job. Ive been working at this local coffee shop for 2 years now, and we are extremely busy all year. Due to the current condition of the economy about 5 of my co-workers have been let go within the last year, with no replacements in sight. That just leaves myself, one other worker and one manager to run an entire store for 9 hours. Even regular customers tell me how upset they are at the service, completely ignoring the fact that i'm doing my best to make everyone happy.

Longknife, there were PLENTY of OTHER willing, responsible people they could have chosen as Moderators. You and I both know there are others who would have easily done just as good a job. Off the top of my head, I can name RedRose and Hypnos.

Like Sangodoc? I've been working on the wiki alongside him for quite a while since the expansion pack came out. He's one of the moderators I actually DO like. Why? I get to see him and speak to him in an environment OUTSIDE the forums. I hardly see him as a Moderator, partly because I knew him beforehand. He made himself known to me as the kind of take-charge person that can handle being a moderator.

But in all honesty, I've hardly seen any of these people.

By what means were these people chosen to look over us? Why is it that Sango went and earned his moderation, but it seems these guys were just picked right off the middle of South Arch?

That's my only issue: WHY were they chosen? Why not more experienced members? Why not people that normal users identify with, like a certain member of tableware that we shall not mention by name? I'm pretty sure we as a group would feel more comfortable if we were talking to people we actually know, instead of this completely random group of strangers.

However, I do agree we need to give them a chance before we start to rip out their intestine and feed their corpses to BarbEQ.
Let them do their jobs in peace...and stop whining about communism, sheesh. You act like they're putting a gun to your head and making you come to the forums, or making you play this game. If you hate it so much, stop coming here. It's not rocket science.

When they **** up, THEN you yell at them. If they don't, give them a cookie and pat them on the back.
    Boom-shakalaka!
