Ohh haha thats an interesting find. Mmm Im guessing its a dummy item used to stand in for coins on the ground. Ehh ... I guess that thing is an item although I dont see it in the in game Item-opedia

It really doesn't need to be in the Item-opedia. Coins form the base currency of the game. That's why it's treated differently from other items. It has it's own special spot in mails, in your inventory and in your bank.

I'll agree the $1000 on my credit card or in my bank aren't items at that point, however the currency that I physically have in my possession are indeed items as well. If I want to trade a $100 bill into 10,000 pennies and throw them up in the air, I'll have 10,000 items laying around on my floor.

It gets special treatment. It doesn't use an inventory or bank space, and nothing in the game treats it like other items, except for the basic pickup and drop mechanics. NPCs use it for their trading, it's a quest reward far more common than actual items, monsters probably have a gold-drop setting that's separate from the normal droptables etc.

If a mob or boss drops coins, how do you get it? You pick them up. They're items. Name another object in PWI that you can pick up or discard for someone else to pick up that aren't items.

Most used items must be pots (hp or mp). Coins are not items, they are just money and money is used to facilitate the interchange of goods.

If money is not an item, how can you exchange it for other items? Currency is an item that is used as a common standard medium for trading.

    lol :P
    Debatable topic.
    Are coins items?

Many points have been brought up..but this one hasn't unless I missed it.

When you go to retrieve something in the mail and you click *Item*, it takes out coins and puts them into your inventory.

So..by that logic this game considers coins to be an item.

Excellent point. To retrieve your coins, you must press "ITEM".

Best argument for so far. lol

if your going to make a ridiculous pedantic argument at least make the one with the most sense, Deicides are the most used item, as they are the most abundant weapon of choice of one of the more popular class (and several other classes as well), second to veno anyway, and are used on the average 4 or 5 times a second by each person that uses them.

and before you say they aren't consumable, neither are coins

    Me also disagree.
Because armor (sleeves, helmet, cape, leggings, chest) would be used even moar.

    b:chuckle

I saw players with bad or even without armour, pots and coins.

But I saw few palyers without weapon.

Archer need one of those: Crossbow, Slingshot, or Bow.

    Assassin need daggers.

Blademaster need melee weapon, one of those: Blade, Dual Blade,Sword,Dual Sword, Pike, Poleblade, Club, Dual Axes, Poleaxe, Dual Hammers, Polehammer, Fists or Claws

Barbarian: Axe, Hammer, Poleaxe, Polehammer, or Barehand (without weapon)

Cleric need one of those: Wand, Magic Sword, Pataka or Glaive

    Psychic need Soulsphere.

Venomancer not need weapon, because she has pet, but I not saw veno without weapon.

Wizard need one of those: Wand, Magic Sword, Pataka or Glaive.

About coins ... this is resource to get items at this game, like ore, wood or metal are resources to produce other items.

Character can restore his health and mana without pots.

DD without armor but with weapon can be DD at squad where tank can hold agro.
DD without weapon is like may be half of DD.

P.S. The amount of attack charms one can go through on Celestial Tiger is mindblowing.
