I frequently play The Sims 3 and a few other MMOs no problem. This only just recently happened, and the sound came from the speakers, like when you play a CD and it skips over and over again. My speakers are fairly new, and work just fine everywhere else.Don't be jealous of my boogie.0 -
Telling us you have a BSoD is never helpful if you do not specify a little more of what hardware you are running.
Try DxDiag for starters and maybe have a look inside the case itself for dust built up.
BSoD usually happen when device drivers aka ring 1 software gets it's nickers in a twist.
As a poster stated some games demand less of the PC hardware/software wise making 1 game work just fine and others not.
Did you update all of your software btw?
If not maybe something to keep in mind too.
Some VGA drivers have bugs. This means that those bugs may never act up with older less demanding games. Updating device drivers could solve issue's like BSoD too.
So hardware specs
DxDiag readout
Clean out the PC of dust etc.
Come back to us.I speak for myself. My opinions are my own.
Assuming I speak for others is therefor void.0 -

Why yesh, it falls under that category. (Especially when your system be rather weak even by human standards hardware-wise)

Do not underestimate the Angelica Engine. When you crank everything up to max, and go to Archosaur with hundreds of players there, it is graphically intensive. b:victory
It'll be helpful to us if you tell us some of your computer's information.
1) What is the make and model number of your computer?
2) Please also tell us whether you are running a 32bit or 64bit version of Windows. You can find out in Windows by going here: Start > Control Panel > System & Maintenance > System. Then look under System > System Type. It will then display 32bit Operating System or 64bit Operating System. Include that info with the info we ask for below.
3) To create a dxdiag log, go to Start, click on Run, then type in dxdiag and press Enter. Click on Save All Information as a text file (on your Desktop as an example.
If you are using Vista or 7, go to the Start Menu, click on the Search menu and type dxdiag.exe.
4) Copy and paste the top half of your dxdiag into your forum post (that means 50% of the text). If you have Vista, please take out the (TM) (the trademark symbol) out of the text file, as the forums will cut it off and won't display the rest of the text.
If you have a 64bit system, please click on the 64bit Dxdiag/DirectX button to save the correct log file. This is important so that we can help you find the right software for your system.
We'll take a look at it, and offer our advice (or our super cool and helpful community might beat us to answering things for you).Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

I did go into the properties yesterday and I discovered that the box was unchecked for "Run in compatibility mode with (various service packs)". Not sure if that has anything to do with it though.
1)Not sure of this, as my tower has all kinds of numbers and names on it. is there a specific are of my tower it would appear on? Forgive me for not being very technically informed with this sort of thing.
2) its a 32-bit operationg system
3)Not sure where to draw the 50% line, so here is the entire getup:

Angelica is more like a bad child when it comes to game engines...
Oh you should also talk to whoever is in charge of the forums and have them add the vbulletintag for when people post really long stuff like that0 -
from the looks of it you have a somewhat outdated Vista install. You might want to try updating drivers and Windows OS itself.
Vista service pack 2 is out and certain updates smoothed the compatibility issues of various devices.
Same applies to your device drivers. All seem to be out of date. I am sure some updated driver are made available on the manufacture's website.
Give that a tryI speak for myself. My opinions are my own.
Assuming I speak for others is therefor void.0 -

Yeah, I tried to update my drivers and stuff, but according to the information, everything there is up to date. I haven't had the issue since I turned on Service Pack 2.
Also, I will admit I need to update with windows update, but I currently have given up on it, as every time I try to update, the comp gets caught in a loop of "Installing part 3 of 3 - 0% complete" followed by a reboot, over and over again. I tried looking up help on this, but of course windows online help is iffy and confusing.Don't be jealous of my boogie.0
