Does the skill proc effect the actual casting of BIDS itself? I didn't think so, but in RB, and TW I seem to have a lot of crits flying up when it drops.

It does, that's why Sage Wizards die for it. (and die from it too)

lol ofc it works for the skill itself. You get the crit buff after channeling finishes but before the casting phase of the skill.

Interesting tid bit, if you switch to an incompatible weapon (like a lvl 1 fist or axe etc) after the channeling is started, it will let the channeling complete but halt the casting. This allows you to start channeling bids, switch weapons, and get the crit buff w/o actually casting the skill (doesn't start cooldown or use the sparks.. although the mana is consumed). Not all that useful in PvP and whatnot, but it is fun if you are testing damage and want a better chance for w/e your next skill is to crit. You can also do this with sage BT/MS, and you get a 50% chance to gain a spark, which I have used to fill up my chi assuming I have 2 sparks already.

    yep cool trick
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze
