hello i have a lvl 10 wizzard right now and i was just wondering a few things :)

1. i have been putting 1 str 4 magic every level so far. but i heard with this build you will get owned in a few hits while questing and grinding, im kinda new so does this mean i should go with a diff. class until i get money? or will I be better as i get better gear later on?

2. how do genies work? lol idk what to put his points into :(

the build is the true spirit of a wizard, its ok
your goal is kill stuff before it kills you

yes u can get owned in a few hits, but different builds dont change that much since we get the lowest amout of HP by adding Vit
outside, a wizard shouldn't get hit at all, you play with the mobs brains :DD (you need a bit of training and its pretty lame in the lv20ish range, all you can do is slow mobs with stupid gush ;:( and run)

so if you stick to another build you might need 1 more hit per mob witch results in higher mana cost and hp pot cost since you get hit more often :p

genies, i dont know why we get those are lvl1, they are barely useful in that lvl

go with 9mag 1 str every 2 level. that str is enuf for all wep. and arm. build ur mana as high as u can, thats the power of mages. and u dont even get hit if u can kill in 2-3 casts.

    1 str 4 magic

Whatever build u may go for definitely not like this. You don't need 1 str each lvl, 1 str each 2 lvls is best. If you want to go pure mag then 1 str 9 mag each 2 lvls.

On another note, interesting siggie Hex o.o'

Hex siggie is spreading the crabs of our mighty faction!
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

What server are you on? if you on PVP server then you might want to look at going LA build, read the stickies for more info on this build. Might help you survive all those BM's and barbs and archers wailing on you all the time, but i doubt it.
Without a doubt, Wizz is the hardest DD class to play untill you get to about lvl60-70.
Archer class is tough due to light armour, and very good damage.
Sins and Pys hit way harder then wizz at low levels (and also at high lvls)
    Veno - easy mode
BM's tough and fast and get lots of weapons to use

Not going to mention Barbs and clerics as they are more support class, not DD.

Defiantly go 1strngth, 9 mag per 2 levels. at lvl 60 you start to hit quite well with your TT60 sword, then lvl70 gets even better. I was really starting to hate rolling a wizz, but now i love it. Sure i can't solo things like Bosses and such, but i can do pretty well at PQ now. And there not that many of us around, so we are a bit "exotic"

Going 1 str 4 mag every level is still an option. If you go with this build you have enough str for level 99 by the time you're 54. After that you can go pure mag or add some vit if they want. That 1 extra str in those low levels won't affect much at all.

Play the class you enjoy, there are other ways to make money than making another class and farming money with it. Yes, wizards are squishy and can die in a few hits if you're not paying attention. But keep in mind that you also hit like a truck, so you usually nail mobs in 2-4 hits. It will definitely be better as you get better gear later on, but also keep in mind that you won't always be alone while questing and grinding, you'll definitely do group work after Bounty Hunter starts at lvl40, so no worries about tanking everything.

    2. how do genies work? lol idk what to put his points into :(

Purpose of a genie is to help your character out. All genies have the same set of skills you can teach it, provided you have the required affinity and lucky points. There's a couple of ways you can level it: with genie exp cubes, with your own exp, or with your own spirit points. They also gain exp points whenever you get exp (through a quest, grinding, etc.) The bulk of your genie questions can be answered in the genie guide on the wiki.
