Sex Change Scrolls

We have make over scrolls, so why not have Sex change scrolls . Many people have created characters of the opposite sex that aren't happy with there sex. So why not put in Sex change scrolls that will allow people to change there sex?

    It'll be "hard" because they has to either make it not work for untamed (which would probably bring up moar QQ) or create male venos and female barbs (which would bring up moar QQ from some of the current venos and barbs)

    The game I used to play had the option to change your gender, it was actually required for one of the quests if you were using a male character. Ah.. good times, good times...

    Anyway... It won't happen.

    pretty sure we have had official word that this would be a no-go due to the whole chinese sociopolitical scene where alternative lifestyle choices can be terminal to your health

    as this game is owned by a chinese company they will not put anything as controversial as same sex marriage/embrace or sex changes into one of their flagship products.

    Saying that sex change won't be implemented becouse of possible **** marriages, or because of possible "female barbs" is utter and absolute bogus and a cop out because it would be quite easy to write a code for not being able to use that scroll if you're an untamed, or married.

    However, the real reason why this is not happening is because the chinese want their male players to use male toons and female players to use female toons, so they won't allow sex changes even for other versions of their game plaid elsewhere either and PWE is unable to make this change without their chinese daddy company giving them the OK signal, which is not going to happen.





    That said.... it is utterly stupid that we have to live with rules of a country that has no bearing whatsoever in this version of the game. But what can we do about it? Not much until PWE gets full rights to the game in here...

    zumi.. pwe is a wholly owned subsidiary of pw bejing. in order for the changes that are being asked for to be implemented, they would have to be devolved or purchased from the parent company (doubtful) or the rights to run the game in the US would have to be obtained by another company (at this point also extremely doubtful, but plausible).

    Even if there weren't the whole chinese thing it's not like same sex marriage is even legal in every state of the US yet, plus the fact that there is still a considerable proportion of the population there who do not condone the various alternative lifestyles proposed via these threads - possibly enough dissent to cause any company including mechanisms within a virtual environment (which is primarily aimed at children and teens) a great deal of trouble.

    Not saying this is right, but the world is what it is. And despite the name Perfect World isn't any different from the real one in terms of bigotry and unwillingness to accept others. If the game was set in the 21st century or beyond I could see that having these functionality would at least be plausible in the overall mythos of the game, however it is set in a fantasy version of dynastic china and although a lot of the actual history or real mythology is diluted, there are still some strict rules that the game makers would stick to - hence unlike BOI we do not have motor car mounts, or technological devices.

    Anyway i am blethering. The GM have already stated it aint happening - that is the end of it. If folks want this type of functionality - write their own game or find one that allows this.

    Me would consider a creator to has quite a lot of bearing on it's creation....
    Especially if said creator still be regularly altering it's creation.

    Hamster, read it again and you'll notice I was referring to the country and its culture, not to PWE's daddy company. Those are separate things. ^^

    Sorry i don't mean a sex change for barbs or veno's i mean a sex change for any other character that has the option to be male or female. sort of if you made a mistake and want to correct it now. A pack should be made for that. Barbs and Venos you're male or female you don't have a choice.

    I'm not going to quote, but just to everyone who says about the **** marriage (same-sex embrace as well) and everything how even in the US it isn't legal? That may be so for most states, but get this. WE STILL HAVE FABLE II!!! Its just a game, people! Also, if anyone has ever played The Sims? I bet you have. b:shutup Just because the country hasn't legalized it doesn't mean it can't be in the games and media.

    And yes, I realize that China has a bigger issue, and I'm not talking about them. I'm just talking to all the people who try and use the US for a comparison. Because we have **** and whatnot all over the media and its widely accepted whether its legal or not, so your argument is pretty void since what we are talking about is a game and in the US, its not unusual anymore.
