Some newb questions.

1. The lock option under the character picture at the top left, if I activate it does it make it so I don't lose any of my items when killed, as long as it's in the time period of the locks activation?

2. This is about my build. My current build is 1 STR 1 DEX and 3 INT per level for light armor, should I continue with this build,or just switch it to 1 STR and 4 INT a level? I find that I like the light armor build compared to how I see INT mages getting owned by monsters far more than I ever do, but I'm wondering what would be better in the long run.

3. Are fashion items considered in the equiped items catagory if you die, or do you always keep them as long as they are equiped?

4. I plan to buy fashion (Of course you can tell by the previous question), would it be cheaper to sell gold to players and then buy the items I want, or should I just buy directly from the boutique?

1. You can, but read the restrictions on Safety Lock. Your NPC interactions will be severely limited. Switching back to 1 minute is a pain as well, as you must type in 1 minute, and wait for 3 days WITHOUT TOUCHING IT for it to reset.

2. Depends on your funds. LA is good until 90, then AA becomes better in the long term. If you can afford the 500 point reset or something, go ahead, but if not, might as well go AA and die more, lol. If you go AA though kill off all of your dex, you have absolutely no need for it.

3. To my understanding they are considered equipped items, ie, only can be dropped if you are red named.

4. Logically, no one will sell boutique items for higher than the boutique price. Why? If a 5 gold item (400k/gold) is being sold by a player for 2.1mil, I would decide to buy 5 gold through the AH and directly buy it in the boutique, instead of wasting 100k. Buying fash and boutique items from other players is almost always cheaper than buying gold, but be sure to double check.

1. and 4. are already answered properly

2. The problem with changing your stats without a reset will be that from the moment on where you do the first time 1 STR and 4 INT you wont be able to wear light armor of your lvl anymore because the 1 STR and 1 DEX every lvl is the requirement for LA. The same goes if you put less than 3 points in INT every lvl then you wont be able to wear your lvls magic weapons.

I was LA mage myself until lvl 55 when i decided to reset the dex for pure build. In terms of survivability the change wasnt that bad. I became a lil more squishy than LA but by changing the ornaments to phys ornaments i was able to reach more or less the same phys def with earth barrier. The difference in Dmg was not as huge as i expected (500/hit) but my mana pool increased sharply ( about 2k more mana). But the lil increase in dmg combined helped to finish mobs off with 1 hit less so you should be able to kill em before they reach you. So the additional phys def from LA is mainly a pvp advantage if you ask me. The higher crit rate is nice with LA but your average hit will be lower so pure build makes up in dmg especially with higher weapons.

3.as far as i know equipped items = everything you carry around with you. btw the more people you kill the higher the chance to drops something when you are red.

just wanted to interject that this only applies to people who are WHITE named - any shade of pink/red won't give you hours and doesn't increase your % to drop items.
